the price has increased here and they also have shorter opening hours! the queues are always very long here. the are only a bout 6 items on the menu. the buns are all mini sized. the lotus bun is a smooth round bun. it holds up alright to steam but best to eat it hot and fresh from the shop. in any case, the pastry does not melt even when you bring it home. the filling is very very sweet but you can taste the lotus. the bun is so small it is gone in 1 bite. about $0.60. service is gruff and unfr

the buns here are very very good. we love that the lotus bun is a small size so you can pop it into your mouth easily. it is smooth enough and does not takes fake. tastes wholesome! you can watch them making the buns too. however, it is not cheap. a very small bun costs $0.60 onwards. it is the smallest bun in singapore. all their buns are a small size. but can a bit too sweet. the coffee buns are great as the coffee mellows the sweetness. i think the coffee buns were rated as one of the best in

If you are in the mood for good pau and you are in the area, you can give Katong Home-Make Pau Specialist a try. I order the char siew bao and siew mai. Both was piping hot when served. The char siew bao tasted good the char siew filling was not too sweet and the portion was just right. The siew mai tasted good and makes for a great snack.

Had the longevity peach bun which is really just lotus bun with pink colouring sprayed on. Not sure how ssafe it is to eat so much pink colouring. But it tasted better than normal lotus bun! It looks really pretty too! I would buy boxes of these for celebrations. They are so good and so tasty. Do not leave them in their packaging or plastic bags or the steam will make the buns soggy and wet. It's a but over sweet but the pastry is just too good! The coffee bun is a winner as usual and luckily for

The coffee bun is a winner as usual and luckily for me it hasn't sold out when I was there. Usually it sells out very early. The coffee bun is very generous in filling which is a sweet lotus with coffee taste, but it is also very very sweet. you need water or tea to wash this all down.

The prices are still the same - $0.50 for each small bun. But the char siew bun prices have increased due to the super popularity of it. It is now $0.60 for a super small char siew bun.

Recommended! The service is really gruff and frowny.

This is a great hush-hush secret bun shop. They do not advertise and only people who know good buns will know this shop. This shop has been very popular and has very long queues. Most people buy multiple large boxes when they come here. They sell only about 5 varieties of buns. Lotus, bean paste, big pau, coffee, char siew. They also sell fan choy, siew mai and glutinous chicken rice. EVERYTHING here taste FANTASTIC. Not too salty, not too sweet, not soggy, not hard, no chemical taste, everything

Not too salty, not too sweet, not soggy, not hard, no chemical taste, everything handmade on the spot. You can watch them making it right there, fresh as fresh can be! Cannot stop raving about this shop!

It's expensive to buy paus in Singapore these days. They make them really small and each is less than a mouthful. But each bun costs $0.50 except for the big pau which costs $1.50 due to the hard-boiled egg in it. So everytime you open your mouth, that's $0.50 thanks.

Anyway, the char siew is REALLY good. But they do use red colouring, which is not so good. The coffee buns always get sold out really fast. It's their super best seller. Within minutes of being made, it's sold out.

The lady serving is really grumpy. Not sure why. She doesn't say much either. Just frowns.

Highly recommended!! The pastry is perfect, no ammonia taste, not soggy at all.
