This Hometown Express offers lots of chinese famous dishes at an affordable price. My favourite here is there sweet and sour pork. The pork meat is juicy and tender. Really like the crispyness of it and it is still crispy even when it gone cold. Some diced cucumbers and pineapples are also used in cooking this delightable dish which added that extra crunchiness to this dish. A bowl of plain rice comes along with this yummy meat dish which is definitely filling after you have complete it and at the same time very satisfying as well. continue reading

When I walked up to hometown express, I was surprised to see that the menu had changed. Now they provided more options and even have set meals. I decided to give their gong bao chicken set meal a try. The set meal included the main dish – gong bao chicken, a small plate of oyster vegetable and a soup. The gong bao chicken was really good. The meat was so tender, what I like most is the gravy, it s so tasty and goes well with the rice. The oyster vegetable however was not as nice as I expected it. The vegetables were kind of overcooked and looked really wrinkled. The oyster sauce was rather bland. But nevertheless, the chicken was the main highlight of the menu and it was pretty good. continue reading

Apparently there is some change in ownership of this stall but the name still remains the same. I decided to try their sweet and sour fish with rice. The fish was really fresh and big piece. It was deep fried till very crispy and they topped it off with sweet d sour sauce. I like their sweet and sour sauce as it goes really well with the rice. They were quite generous with the portion of the fish and sauce. They also added a sunny side up fried egg. It was really filling. very big portion. worth it! continue reading
