Signature Dishes
Pass by this famous dessert shop located in Ang Mo Kio which is very famous for all kinds of hong kong signature desserts. The shop is really small and squeezy, which is one of the negative point about this shop. But other than this, it is still cooling here and the service here is very warm and friendly. Both my friend and I had ordered the Mango with Alovera ($5.00) and the Duria with Avocado ($5.50) to share together. In about 10 minutes, both the desserts are served to our table by the friendly staff. Mango cubes are very fresh and sweet and the added aloovera added that slightly bitterness to this dessert but is definitely good for our health. The fine ice in it make it super cooling and refeshing. As for the durian Avocado, durian fruit are generous inside and is thick and creamy. Avocado also make it sweeter and more flavourful. Try it if you have yet to do so and you will love it just like me!

Apparently, this is the place to go for Hong Kong-style desserts. It is in a nondescript area in Jubilee and it was rather quiet when we were there. We order the durian dessert. The first spoonful was very fine and easy on the palate, as all desserts should be. However, this did not dilute the flavour. Bonus marks for the fresh durian pulp used. It was a full round scoop and generous enough.

Dessert was at Xie Ji Hong Kong Dessert located at Jubilee, Ang Mo Kio. It used to be a place with no much restaurants but after revamping the whole place, there seems to be an increased of crowd due to it's additional eateries. Xie Ji is one of them so I decided to give it a try. I had the Mango Sago with Ice Cream and my order arrive fast. The dessert look real thick with it's mango puree and the mango cubes portion is good. The scoop of ice cream is just a normal vanilla ice cream, I was hoping it to be mango flavor for the extra mango punch. Anyway, the dessert tasted good and refreshing, not exactly very sweet nor bland. But it got me thirsty after finishing the whole bowl, I guess it is due to its sugar inside. Overall a not bad dessert.

Can you believe it that you can actually get Hong Kong dessert in Singapore. Xie Ji has assorted hot and cold dessert at affordable prices. Quite small space with nice presentation and ambiance. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. If you don't know what to order, just askthe staff for help. They will help you for sure. I ordered Red bean glutinous rice balls soup with rose bud I love the rice balls. They are soft and chewy with the red bean paste. The soup is not too sweet which I like. The rose buds are safe to be eaten as well. So, don't worry lah. & Milk Pudding and Double Steamed Pear with HoneyThe milk pudding is very refreshing and not too sweet. It came with a double Steamed Pear with Honey. I don't really like the pear because I am not a fruit person. You have to drink the soup and after that scrape out the flesh of the pear. Spending: Less than 10SGDDefinitely will come back again.

The size of the shop is quite small but is nice for friends to gather together or couple for dating. They can order dessert after dinner or lunch then have a chit chat there because the dessert there us delicious. We ordered the mango pamelo which cost 3.90. For those who like mango will fall in love with this dessert. Because when you drink the soup, the mango is so smooth and sweet, plus together with pamelo which also sweet. The feeling is like eating ice blended but even more smooth than that. Once you try it, you will fall in love with it.
