Looking at the November 2013 flyer published by Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert I was tempted to try the Jack Fruit Roll with Special Egg while shopping at Chinatown Point. At the same time, since I need a drink to quench my thirst, I also ordered a cup of Mango Freeze. It took a while for the snack was served probably because of the complexity of preparing it.I like the Mango drink was indeed freezy. Then came the sliced four pieces of Jack Fruit Roll with Salted Egg.

Having drank the Mango Freeze I was not able to try the snack as I was bloated with the cold drink therefore decided to take away.

Four slices of Jackfruit coated with generous amount of toasted white and black sesame seeds.

The jackfruit pulps with the mixture of salted eggs sandwiched between the roll which I believed are made from Squid Paste. The fragrance from the toasted sesame seeds and the fillings of salty and fruity taste.

Interesting ingredient combination priced at S$4.30++

Sheng Kee is always a good place for desserts, as they have a variety of fruit based and traditional desserts. We came here after dinner, and I got the aloe vera lemon grass jelly dessert topped with strawberry bits. It was a refreshing dessert and not overly sweet and neither did it taste like syrup. My friends got the mango pomelo sago - pretty common dessert and tends to be sweeter, and the mango pudding - was quite alright, not too soggy.

After a disappointing lunch at Ipoh Lou Yau Bean Sprouts Chicken , my colleague and I snooped around and found Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert right behind! Man, I instantly regretted my lunch choice! Man, I instantly regretted my lunch choice!

I've just eaten the Chicken Cutlet Noodles at the Clementi Mall outlet the day before, and it was so good!!!
The portion was substantial, the chicken cutlet was likened to that of the Salt Pepper Chicken in Lai Lai Casual Dining but bigger and the noodles were of superb texture!
Well, since I had unfortunately consumed unwanted calories for lunch, I had no choice but to settle for a dessert only (believe me when I said I wanted to eat the Chicken Cutlet Noodles again!!!). So, I decided to go for Mango Pudding. Btw, the Mango Pomelo Sago was wonderful too!
The sweetness was just nice!
Now, there is a promotion where you need only add $1.50 to your main course, and you can have the option of Fried Carrot/ Yam Cake + Almond Paste/ Mango Pomelo Sago/ Black Sesame Paste. The Carrot Cake was really tasty!!!

Ok, I've digressed.
Now what really came as a pleasant surprise was that the Mango Pudding was kinda huge!!!
And there are mango cubes in it!!!
The evaporated milk (I think) around it was not overly sweet and the whole dish just came together as 1 wholesome yummy dessert!!!
DUN SHARE IT WITH ANYONE!!! Enjoy it on your own!!!

Total Cost:
Mango Pudding - About $4 (where to find?
)

Always liked mango desserts, and the one from Sheng Kee did not disappoint. Pomelo bits were plenty, and to add colour to the dessert, there were strawberry bits. Mango puree was thick and not overly sweet so as to taste artificial. Particularly liked the mango pudding in the middle of a cute dome shape. This is comparable or even better to some mango desserts in chinese restaurants.
