This looks something new to us from Seoul Garden as they use to serve steamboat and hotplate eat-all-you-can. It was about 6+pm when we reached there. There was only 1 diner, we were hesitating should we try, anyway, we went in and the service staff let us chose our seats.Menu is simple with one piece of paper, mainly they serve Bibimbap and hotpot, plus some starters, side dishes and Korean types of drinks. Menu is simple with one piece of paper, mainly they serve Bibimbap and hotpot, plus some starters, side dishes and Korean types of drinks. We ordered Bulgogi beef bibimbap, clams hotpot in kimchi soup with rice and a seafood pancake. While we were waiting for our food, patrons were starting to fill up the restaurant, by 7pm there were almost full house. They have 2~3 staff plus a manager serving customers, it seems there is a need to increase staff during peak hours.
Bibimbap usually uses hotstone bowl to serve whereas here uses iron bowl instead. The sauce provided to toss with rice, beef and veggie was OK, taste right. There are 2 soup bases to choose from, miso and kimchi, we opt for kimchi. There was 1 clam didn’t open, kimchi soup was loaded with msg (wonder why?) Both servings are considered small for $9.9++ value. As most Korean restaurant serves little dishes as starter which will come with meals, here we need to pay $3 then we would have 3 little dishes, no comment on this as we didn’t pay extra $3. We would think spending this $3 each person for dessert later at somewhere else.
Seafood pancake, umm…if someone likes to eat more batter/flour mixture and less seafood, it could be their choice. It didn’t meet our like though we finished off the whole pancake as both meals we order were small or just right for small eater.
Friendly staff, seating fine, food just so so and we would not think this is authentic Korean food, whereas it closes to local taste.
