i was surprised with the $5 option i ordered from this stall. Uncle was nice enough to send it to my table as i was sitting just nearby. He also took the initiative to give me 2 small plates without me telling so, thumbsup for that! 1st impression wasn't good, i was wondering what are my ingredients, i only see the noodles and the fried pork lard bits. Little did i realized the goodies all all buried. Combined with the chilli, this semi moist version is perfect, mixed with the pork lard bits which ads to the the bite, this $5 is definitely worth the money. continue reading

Ordered Fried Hokkien Noodles from Huat Heng Hokkien prawn noodle stall after work last night. I would say the serving was pretty good and the price is just right at $3,50. but ingredients wise, i only get a few prawns and some pieces of squid. nothing fantastic about the taste. It tasted rather plain. would not recommend continue reading

I used to patronize this stall on a regular basis when i stayed around here. I have not been back for a while after i moved away. I decided to eat here when meeting a friend in the vicinity. This stall has been around for many years and their standard has been quite consistent. A plate of fairly affordable fried hokkien mee at $3.00 came with 2 pieces of prawns and squids, it fried with crispy pork lards. Pork lards have always been the key to good fried hokkien mee. The sambal chilli was very nice too. continue reading

I drooled when i think of the crispy pork lards found in this plate of fried hokkien mee while writing this review. Not just me but everyone does not like soggy pork lards but such nice crispy pork lards are quite a rare find. The yellow noodle and thick bee hoon were nicely fried in the savory prawn stock with fresh tasting prawns. The sambal chilli got a nice level of spiciness, when mixed it well and squeezed in the lime, it helped to bring the flavor of this plate of fried hokkien prawn noodle to the next level. It was a nice plate of fried hokkien prawn noodle. I enjoyed it pretty much. Strongly recommended. continue reading
