combo bento $5.90 - This bento contains tempura (crabmeat, brinjal, prawn, and capsicum), soba, and chicken karaage. The chicken karaage wasn't freshly fried so it was not hot. The batter of the tempura tasted dry. The batter of the prawn was too thick because the prawn was a small one, it tasted mainly of batter instead of the prawn. the side salad was very sour which was not to my liking. The chawanmushi (add on) texture was smooth and soy sauce taste could be tasted but it was average tasting. It's quite a value bento though as there's variety in it.  continue reading

I'm someone who do not waste food no matter how awful it is. But today, I had proven myself wrong. I went to IMM Kopitiam food court and try out this Japanese Cuisine Salmon Teriyaki S$6.90. It look good as in the images below, there are salads, soup, egg, rice and of course salmon.First bite on the rice had failed me, it do not taste like those pearl rice similiar to korean and japanese rice although it look shorter. The rice have a strong rice sack smell and taste.Next I try the salad, yes, it is alright to taste sour, but how come there is a strong pungent taste of overnight food? Then I try the soup. Super strong chlorine taste, this is definitely straight from the tap water. As for the egg, a strong chlorine taste too, as water and steam is require to make this. Finally, the salmon, fortunately, the source and fish taste ok.I'm someone who never waste food no matter how awful it taste but when I go another round of tasting all the rice, salad, soup, egg and fish again, this time I feel like i had swallow a mouthful of dirty swimming pool water and feel like vomiting. I had no choice but to stop eating and went straight back to my office. continue reading

If you could not decide between chicken or prawn then the best is to have the best of both world like i usually do at this stall. My regular option is to have a chicken katsu and tempura set. I do not quite like the shredded cabbage as it tasted too raw, and the salad strange tasted a little too strange to my liking but i do like the mayo and i usually requested for more mayo. It came with a pretty nice bowl of miso soup.Good value definitely. Give it a try if you happen to be at IMM for lunch. continue reading
