Ordered a prawn toji set to try out as the item looked attractive. The prawn toji set came with salad, cold tofu and miso soup. The salad and miso soup tasted normal. What was yummiest was actually the cold tofu,it was drenched with yummy sesame sauce which was very appetising. The prawn toji was very average as well, nothing special to rave about.Service and waiting time is ok though. continue reading

For details, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.com/2013/06/kazokutei.htmlAfter combing through whole of plaza singapura, we decided to stopover at Kazokutei to have our meal. Overall, only one word to describe. Disappointment.....Pork Kimuchi Nabeyaki ($10.90). Average-rated in my opinion. Soup base is good, but still has quite a 'spacious" room for improvement.Chicken Kimuchi Nabe Gozen with Fried Chicken ($13.90). Nothing great, but soup can't be compared with Pork Kimuchi Nabeyaki. It comes in a set with assorted sushis, two chunks of fried chicken, and udon. Sushi is below expectation, and sushi rice is quite scattered. For more detailed review and photo pictures, please go to http://princessmic80.blogspot.sg/2013/05/of-kazokutei-handmde-udon.htmlFinally had a chance to try Kazokutei Handmade Udon. We ordered their Wagyu beef Shabu set that comes with fried chicken, a bowl of udon, shabu soup with veges and 80 grams of wagyu beef (set for 2). Frankly speaking we are kinda disappointed with their wagyu beef as i think it is not as fresh. the color of the beef looks pale n weird. The udon is still ok, very smooth but my bf feedback that it doesnt taste that special. the shabu soup base is gd with lotsa veges inside. the staff there are quite friendly too. continue reading

Kazokutei has a very nice name and it has become one of my favourite Japanese restaurants since trying it for the first time last year! The dish pictured above is Scallops Sushi, $4.90. It's one of the better sushi that I've had in a while. They are not stingy with the scallops and they are fat and nice! Yummy! Amount of rice is just right, not too much and not too little, with just the right amount of vinegar and stickiness!I'd always go to this restaurant whenever I happened to be at Plaza Singapura! continue reading

I was feeling quite Monday Blue at work so i contacted my classmate A whether she wants to meet me up for dinner before class at 7pm!It's actually quite a rush since i end work at 5.30pm so i met her up at Kazokutei's entrance Service was quite fast that day as there wasn't much dinner crowd yet I ordered the ebi omu rice and A got a set which consists of sushi, udon and fried chicken!I really like my omu rice, the rice inside is fried rice with some mixed vegetables and tomato sauce And it even comes with a small bowl of mushroom soup! For A's set, she find it ok overall but she don't really likes the fried chicken as she finds it a tad too salty!Overall would recommend this place as it's still quite cheap as compared to some Japanese Restaurants continue reading
