Not The Usual Hor Fun

Out of goodwill, my sis bought me Hor Fun for dinner and she claimed that it is very nice and insisted me of having it.From the look, it wasn't those dark sauce Hor Fun. Their's look much healthy as it is those kind of clear sauce. True enough, the sauce is great - sweet.Just that the Hor Fun is a little burnt.If not it will be perfect!

Hidden Zi Char Restaurant

When one is hungry, you really don't wish to go to a place that is crowded and you have to wait and wait and still wait. This Zi Char Restaurant is one that is hidden at the corner which is the perfect choice for a hungry man!It was kind of funny though, this Zi Char Restaurant actually have 2 different names. On the top it is called Kok Kee Fish-head Steamboat, at the bottom of the shop front it is called Restaurant Seafood which is kind of confusing.What really left me an impression is the SIA

 What really left me an impression is the SIA Uniform Kebaya the service staffs worn as a top. It really make you feel like home; Singapore is where the home is right?
The service is very straight forward and make you feel very welcome. They really acknowledge your presence and by saying "hope to see you again" does make a big different which mean they appreciate your business and as their customer.

We ordered 4 dishes and 2 drinks at $33.40 which is quite a steal!

 Claypot Bee Hoon $8

The claypot they used is not the ordinary claypot, their's keep the food very warm. Throughout the meal the Bee Hoon is still piping hot whereby you can't eat it instantly. You have to wait for it to cool down else you will get your tongue burn! Not only that, you have to battle with the time. Else the Bee Hoon will soak up the sauce in no time! The taste is very good, quite a healthy dish as there's lots of vegetable in it; very sweet and refreshing.

At first when I decided to order this dish, he was saying "Bee Hoon can fill our hunger meh?" When we were at our second bowl, we were just half-way finishing it and we were quite full by then! Man, this portion of Claypot Bee Hoon can serve about 8 bowls of servings - definitely value for money.

 Fu Rong Egg $8

This is my first time having Fu Rong Egg and finally I get to taste it! Basically Fu Rong Egg has a different mixture of various ingredients. There's mushrooms, prawns, onions and vegetable. Other than the mixture of ingredients in it, taste wise nothing special.

 Shrimp with Chicken something $8

This restaurant is real generous, their serving here is shocking. We did expect about 6 balls in this dish but it is double the amount. We really couldn't finish it although it is nice and not too overly oily. Order this dish only if you come in group!

 Home-made Barley $1.20

Beside the straw size which make it difficult to consume the Barley, the Barley drink is decent!

If you are looking for affordable, generous serving and very homely restaurant this is the place to be especially if you want to avoid crowds!
