Headed down to Lau Pa Sat to enjoy some wonderful food with my girlfriend. Decided to order BBQ prawns from one of the Satay stalls over there (Juamin Satay)What we ate and pricing: 5 BBQ prawns and 10 sticks of satay ($2 per prawn and $0.60 per satay)Like: Prawn was fresh, succulent and well seasoned and wasn't over BBQ-ed. Satay had little fat and was also done well.Dislike: Seller tried to recommend us one of the set menu, which contained way more food than we could have eaten. Seller should not try to tout and sell more food than what the consumer can consume. Other than that, the food was delicious! continue reading

I work in raffles place & one evening on my way home from work, I brought home some satay. about 10 sticks of Satay costing 6 $.. I picked some chicken & beef. The flavors of all were almost the same, we dipped it in peanut sauce & ate., Satay is normally marinaded with a sweetish peanut sauce, so tends to taste a little sweet. I loved the chicken the most, beef too was nice. Both chicken & beef were quite well cooked. I love Satay from Lau Pa Sat continue reading

Since My hubby works in Raffles Place, on his way home from work, one evening, he brought home some satay. about 15 sticks of Satay costs 9 $. He picked some chicken, beef, lamb & duck. We unpacked it & attacked the food with a cold can of beer. The flavors of all were almost the same, we dipped it in peanut sauce & ate. I love my satay to be spicy, so I sprinkled a bit of pepper over it & enjoyed it, Satay is normally marinaded with a sweetish peanut sauce, so tends to taste a little sweet.. I loved the chicken the most, the lamb was a little less cooked but all OK. We enjoyed Satay after a really long time that evening. continue reading

Went to one of Singapore's most famous hawker center - lau pat sat.apparently there will be a music band playing on fri- sun at 8pm.ate this from the indian store, it was really tasty with the curry but quite expensive. my dad bought the mutton curry which cost $7 which really shocked all of us. the pita/bread was quite crispy!the photo above is the store, quite hard to take a good shot because the board gives out light.mum bought the seafood noodle which was really tasty, the portion was quite huge for $5, we could share among 3 people. the prawns were not so fresh because we went quite late at night but the noodles were thin and slick with a little salt sprinkled over it. continue reading

First time went to Lau Pa Sat and before that I had do some some research and found out the place is famous with satay. Ordered the 20 sticks of chicken satays :The chicken meat is thick enough. The satays taste really fantastic with the special peanut sauce! Besides satays, there are few pieces of ketupat and cucumber which you can dip with the peanut sauce too! continue reading
