Signature Dishes
Le Groumet is a hidden Gem located near Ayer Rajah Market and Food Centre. As we entered the restaurant, we saw their slogan that goes "It's all about good Food". Dining establishment was simple in decor, with white as its theme, giving a spacious and clean environment.Every table comes with a cup of water filled with a little candle, I guess this will be used during dining in the night. As soon as we set in, we quickly ordered our beverages. From left to right: Cranberry Apple Juice - $4Passion Fruit with Lychee Cooler - $4.50 Root Beer - $2.80Orange Juice - $4 The hot chocolate was foamy and well prepared. One of their Signature Mains that comes with tangy grilled premium chicken thigh cooked dressed with hickory and nachos cheese sauce. Skin was cook to slight crisp added a special crunch on its texture with the succulent thigh meat. The nachos and hickory sauce had further enhanced the charred taste from the grill. Awesome! Sides like the spring vegetables were pretty average consisting of a varieties of steamed vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and carrots blanched in light chicken broth. Whereas their homemade coleslaw was not bad too, these crunchy cabbages were tossed with onions, carrots, and mayonnaise sauce, best is that they were not too milky.A simpler version from the former. These thighs were infused with Japanese BBQ sauce then charcoal grilled to obtain its tempting presentation.Golden brown breaded pacific dory with the sides as macaroni & cheese and coleslaw. Exterior of the breaded crumbs had a rougher texture than the dory meat. Macaroni & cheese was oven baked dressed in rich & lucious English Cheddar cheese sauce.Pan-seared Norwegian King Salmon was beautifully done with a creamy lemon Capers sauce added with mashed potato and coleslaw as the sides. Its skin was seared to its perfect crispiness with its meat still packed full of juice. Presentation of the creamy homemade mashed potatoes was in wonderful shape topped with savoury mushroom sauce. Fluffy battered soft shell crab in Alio Olio Style, this dish can be served in spicy or non-spicy form. Pasta was cooked to al-dente perfection. Do note that pasta dishes do not come with sides of choice.Overall, the place was a little quiet but definitely a good spot for some who want to dine as a group. Surprisingly, they are one of the places recommended by trip adviser base on their decal on the entrance. Though the price may be close to those western food chain restaurant, standard of food are said better than some places. For somewhere not crowded and cozy, Le Gourmet is a good alternative. Moreover there is no additional charges like GST or service charge. For more reviews, visit www.umakemehungry.com

I was surpise to find such a restaurant in a quiet housing estate. So I decided to have a try.The staff recommended the menu of the day which was the " Mexican Grilled Chicken Chop".When the ordered arrived, I was very surpised that the serving was big, with 2 sides, a big sausage and a piece of chicken thigh. The chicken meat was tender and juicy, with their special mexican sauce. Though it taste more like BBQ sauce.

The quaint little neighbourhood cafe actually had its roots coming from a hawker centre stall that used to exist at Blk 516 in the West Coast area. Since then, they had moved out from their former premises into this shop area that is a tad unnoticeable unless you decide to turn left rather than to head in the direction where more shops are located at. The food establishment has simplistic decor, sticking with the shade of white for it’s furnishings, which gives it a clean, modern and comforting feel. The Beef Bolognese Baked Rice my friend had was extremely fragrant when it came to the table. Not only could you smell the aroma of baked cheese, you could also smell the tomato in the Bolognese as well. It also seemed quite huge too, though on the downside it seemed a bit greasy. The Mexican Grilled Chicken with Cheezy Sausage came with a choice of 2 sides, so I decided to go for Potato Wedges and Coleslaw. The boneless chicken thigh was juicy and tender, but it contained quite a bit of soft bones that somewhat ruined the otherwise flawless texture of the chicken. The brown sauce seemed to have a unique flavour, but the cheese sauce didn't really taste strong nor spicy unlike how nacho cheese dips are supposed to taste like. The potato wedges are crispy on the outside, fluffy in the inside which are addictive. The coleslaw was served so cold it remained so at least 20mins after it was served. For more photos and the full review, please visit: http://jiaksimipng.wordpress.com/2013/04/20/le-gourmet-blk-504-west-coast-drive/

The shop's signboard and name (LE GOURMET) looked attractive and high class, so my family and I decided to try the western food they serve! This stall is something like Astons' but they do not have as many branches. Besides this stall, they have another one down the road which is a restaurant. The food is not bad, portions are reasonable and enough to make us all full. We ordered a variety of western food ranging from meat chops to spaghetti. They also serve side dishes like fried soft shell crab which we ordered for 4 dollars. It was served in a basket and it was really crispy and yummy! Although we waited quite some time for our food (bcos there was another group that ordered like 6-7 plates of food just before us), I believe the wait was worth it bcos the food is good and relatively cheap! The staff were also friendly although they were really busy. (: What's more? They also provide buffet catering for western food! So you could go down and try the food, and if you like it, cater from them for your parties and gatherings! (:
