Attracted by the newspaper clippings, I decided to get some bread from this stall for breakfast. I asked what the most popular bread was and the aunty recommended the nachos one, which I bought - nacho cheese taste overwhelming and the amount of ham and potatoes was quite little, overall barcook has better nachos bread. I also tried the mushroom and cheese bread, very average, I didn't quite like the cheese they use. The walnut bread was good though, walnuts crunchy.

I didn't expect there is oven baked breads selling at Chinatown Complex. Whenever I was there, my mind was just telling me opt for Chinese/Singaporean kind of food. I passed by this shop when I was searching for the glutinous rice stall.

It caught my eyes because the owner was shaping the breads when I passed by. There were few types of breads, some egg tarts and siew bing 燒餅 ready for selling. Whereas the owner was making twisted breads at that moment.

After I bought my glutinous rice, I went to this bakery and thought to get one to try. I heard a lady asked the owner for cheese bread, it was still baking. I wanted a cheese bread too but the owner said it was special order for the lady. Then I bought the last twisted bread with walnut, another lady behind me also wanted the twisted bread too! Oops, I would have it.

I didn't eat it straight away. It was for my tea time that day. As I made homemade breads every week a year ago, I have a standard for breads though. This one was soft and light. I would say the second proofing for the dough was just right. Walnut was really fresh and crisp. The bread wasn't too sweet. It is a humble bread with quality.
