Signature Dishes
I don't normally review buffets at events that I attend but this caterer is one class above the rest! I was at a recent movie premiere night and though the preview lounge was very small, Mum's Kitchen, managed to set up the food in a corner and desserts in another corner. The way they displayed the food trays, made it easy to reach all the items and yet not obstruct the passage flow of people streaming into the lounge.The pasta was infused with crab stick and mushrooms and was over the top for me. I definitely felt it was one of the best tasting staples I had ever come across at a catered buffet. The sweet and sour fish and beef slices were slightly better than your typical offerings. The otah fish wasn't too spicy and though it looked dry, it really wasn't dry at all.The desserts were eclairs and fruit tarts which were frequently replenished throughout the night.

I really love the unique plate they placed my food on,it is oval in shape and it really helps in boosting my appetite. This dish costs $5.00 which i think is abit expensive. However, they used Japanese rice instead of normal white rice, which i think is worth the price. The sweet and fish was nice when it was served hot; it is soft and the fish was juicy but after awhile when it turned cold i get a bit sick of it, i find it too floury. The egg was cooked for sometimes before i ordered as it had turned cold and is very oily. My overall experience was acceptable but i will not recommended for fussy people!

Company having buffet catering by mum's kitchenThere's prawn,brocolli,creamy fish fillet...& for dessert we had bo bo cha chaThe fried rice have mushroom & some mixed peas inside but the rice was too soggy & lack of fragrantsThe brocolli was nice but sauces was too oilyThe bo bo cha cha was served hot,it was quite thin,with strong coconut tastebut a bit too sweet for meOverall i rate 5/10

My cousin held his wedding and catered from this caterer for his buffet.(:The buffet was quite a disappointment. Was attracted by the pasta was the main dish and took some side dishes such as fish and vegetables.The pasta was spiced and maybe because it was cooked quite some time ago, it was a little too hard. But the pasta was still acceptable. The fish was okay. However on the whole, the dishes are not well flavoured and many areas are left for improvements.One dish I like was the potato salad. The dessert was the standard ones like canned cocktails.Was not sure of the price paid but the quality of the food could definitely be better.

At first when I saw the catering service's name is called "Mum's Kitchen", I was already anticipating the quality of food and the touch of Mum's cooking (it's not that I want someone who cooks like my mom because she doesn't really cook much, but I refer to the essences of homemade cooking that makes food a little bit more humane).The food definitely is good even though some dishes were not to my liking. Probably because it was cold already. I especially love the noodles which has an unique spices kind of taste that I never tasted before. It is more awesome than mee goreng! And of course those little snacks like scallops and nuggets are always girls' favorite!
