Nam Kee (Boon Cheong) Hainanese Chicken Rice Branch (Closed)

This is one of the three chicken rice stalls in this food centre. I ordered a basic plate of white chicken rice for $3. The amount of chicken given was indeed generous. The texture of the chicken is somewhat smoother and softer as compared to the roasted one. The rice was of grainy texture and fragrance. The chilli was equally good, it has a good spiciness level with a hint of lime and ginger. This is not the best tasting chicken rice in this food centre though.

There are 3 stalls here selling chicken rice and I have tried one before and this stall plus the other one I have not. So I settled for this stall of chicken rice at $3 a plate. The rice were slightly wet plus oily and not much of the fragrance. The meat was tender but I had to discard the skin because I found plenty of fats under them. Hmm, overall didn't think it was great.

Came by here on a Sunday afternoon with a very hungry stomach. This was one of the stalls with no queue so i decided to try it. This was an average plate of chicken rice with almost no surprises. The rice was pretty moist but with little taste of chicken broth. Good thing is chicken was pretty tender and juicy with a nicely smooth texture a. The chilli was quite a disappointment, it was in between sweet and spicy, neither here nor there. The soup was good, it got a nice vegetable soup taste like
