We ordered one double Combi Set for 2 at S$19.90 from Nan Xiang at Novena Square 2.This Combi Set comprises of 2 bowls of chicken rice, 2 drumsticks of White Chicken meat, two bowls of Soup of the Day and a plate of boiled Shanghai Bok Choy.The chicken rice is fragrant, tasty and fluffyThe chicken drumstick served in pieces, with the skin and bone intact. Garnished with a few pieces of cucumber. The meat is quite tender, moist and flavourful. From the tenderness of the chicken I could tell that the meat is well poached in such a way that there is no trace of dark red blood secretes from the bones unlike some chicken meat .The usual classic dip of tangy chilli sauce that’s topped with a zingy of ginger sauce goes very well with both the fragrant rice and the poached white chicken.Soup of the Day has two pieces of maize cobs combined with red dates, one piece of miserable pork rib cooked with goji berries. The soup has a mild taste.The last dish of the Combi Set was a plate of Shanghai Bok Choy. I believe the Bok Choy was cooked in chicken broth that’s where the natural sweetness comes from. Unlike the common preparation of boiled vegetables with oyster sauce topping that are served at foodcourts. We waited for about 15 minutes before the last dish of Shanghai Bok Choy was served. By the time the vegetable dish came, we almost finished eating the rice and the soup.For next round, we will order half a chicken instead of the Combi Set.

The FoodI ordered the Chicken Rice Ball set meal with fried vegetables with shallots and lotus root pork ribs soup The rice ball was fragrant, firm, a bit sticky and easily tear apart with chop stick. Taste wise same like chicken rice but texture is like eating rice dumplings.The chicken was springy, chewy and juicy with lots of lean meat too! Most important is the chilli sauce which was a bit sour and spiciness just nice and taste shiok !! The chicken rice ball was wrapped in special paper maybe to retain the moisture and after "unwrap" the paper, I saw the rice so "fat" and "juicy" and glistens under natural lightingThe seat meal also comes with Lotus root pork ribs soup which tastes nice and homely and packs a lot of ingredients like lotus roots, carrots, red dates and pork ribs. As for the fried vegetables with shallots, I find that is a bit too oily for me but taste wise still acceptable for me.The PriceReasonably priced at $25++ for generous portion of vegetables, herbal soup and chickenOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

this is my 2nd time having this cicken rice..the first time they had a promotion.. and that was around 1 1/2 yrs ago i guess.. i couldnt remember exact date haha..well i think the promotion would be better as the rice is rice ball instead of this round..a bowl of rice.. with chicken beast (should have as for chicken thigh smoother and nicer)the chicken meat are tender.with 2 shrimp wanton.. and a plate of vege..chili is important as well.. and it was hot enough =) so does not sauce for the chicken..price wise above avg..
