The place was packed and 5 of us were squeezed in a tiny round table.Menu Looked not bad.Half Steam Chicken / Roasted Chicken 半只白鸡/ 烧鸡 S$20The staff recommeded us the half serving of chicken in mixture steam and roasted chicken but was served roasted chicken. Would prefer that the chicken was deboned. The chicken was juicy but too boney. The chilli sauce and the ginger sauce was not bad.Fish Maw Thick Soup 鱼鳔羮 (S$8)Another highly recommended dish but felt it was not bad but no wow. Maybe should have ordered the soup version.Deep Fried Tofu 香炸豆腐 (S$7)Served with sweet chilli sauce. Although it was high recommended, personally felt that it was average."Qing Long" Bean Sprouts 青龙芽菜 (S$12)Stir fried with bits of salted fish in it, the vegetables was crunchy.Washed down with cups of calamansi ($2). continue reading

If you are not really keen on the rice dishes, you can try out their noodles or porridge as well!Interior dining was big and spacious, all filled with tables in the dining area but still leaving rooms for the walkways. If you side near the walls, you can see that the condiments are all neatly arranged in the rack which was mounted to the wall.Even its menu is placed on the rack, which make it so convenient for the helpers.A simple and interesting soup to pair along with our mains. Hot soups are meant for cool rainy day.Soup was thick but taste was light and comes with crunchy healthy beansprouts, shredded chicken and slices of mushrooms. If not for its Laksa Chicken Noodle that was recommended, I would have never enter a Chicken Rice Restaurant like this. The Laksa chicken noodle had its unique taste whereby its base was thick and aromatic. The bowl of fragrant laksa was made up of Tau Pok and steamed white chicken.I was carried away by the fragrance of their rice initially when it was being served up to our table. However to our dismay, it was not as fluffy even though the fragrance is there.Their steamed white chicken was average, no stark different from those we have from the usual hawker stalls.Overall, Im quite impressed on the Laksa chicken noodle to its chicken rice. Thus, this makes a reason to patronise them again. Do note that take away service is available. continue reading

A new Chicken Rice shop that opened its doors a couple of months back along The Rail Mall. We were pretty impressed by their quality Chicken Rice Set ($5.50) (comparable to the likes of Boon Tong Kee and Loy Kee) and at . The chicken was tender and succulent while the rice was pretty fragrant and not too oily. We especially love the chili which was really appetising due to its slightly sour-ish after taste. However, the soup was not served together and you would need to request for it, something which we felt could be improved upon. We also ordered their Fish Maw Seafood Soup ($6.00) which was equally appealing! They were quite generous with their ingredients consisting of huge chunks of fish maw, a big prawn (only item which we left could have been more), sotong and fish slices and some tofu. Most importantly, it was not MSG loaded and tasted really delicious and rich! A new kid on the block that serves nice chicken rice at pocket friendly prices! continue reading
