Kallang Leisure park is quite out of place for most people without cars. People mainly come here to Kbox or to buy groceries at Cold Storage. Lots of outdoor carpark lots if the mall carpark's full.Nihon Mura Izakaya is quite noisy and crowded when we went, possibly due to lunch hours. Sometimes it's nice/quiet and cooling if you come in at a right time. The service is quite slow during peak hour.We ordered the Crab/ Salmon sushi and Salmon Don Stonepot. I realized that Nihon Mura really has increased their prices a lot since the 99 cents days. I guess it was just a "trial". The standards honestly has dropped. Maybe the fish are no longer from Japan due to the nuclear disaster or something that's why. Overall I was just there to eat because the food court had no more seats. Goodbye to the good ol days I guess. The taste was okay, not amazing like it used to. continue reading

Dinner with Ivy & Angela at Nihon Mura 日本村 before going to 张惠妹AMeiZING Encore World Tour Live 2013. Nothing much to rave about at this place, except that it's my first better meal after my 5 days of porridge diet.Scallop Mentai Prawn Mentai - They way they prepare this is so funny Instead of putting the dressing on the prawn, it is on the shellMore pictures on other food we ordered; http://milkfrost.blogspot.sg/2013/01/nihon-mura.html continue reading

As it is during lunch time, it is more crowded and the restaurant is quite noisy with different groups of people at their tables having their own conversation. Since there are only two of us, we managed to get seated quite easily. Both of us just went for our sushis. At only $1.19 per plate, it is one of the cheapest sushi around in singapore. I always liked to get my unagi sushi which is grilled eel. I think it is an acquired taste, since some people I know absolutely abhor the taste of unagi. I also like the seasoned jellyfish though a little salty, but still tasty. continue reading

Cheap sushi when you dine in but takeaways are actually more expensive. The sushi is alright. Nothing special. The service is very disorganised and messy. And they don't clear your tables or bring your orders properly! They miss your order all the time and bring the wrong stuff. Some of the stuff on the menu don't look like the food when it comes to your table. The ordering system is abit messy as well with the sticks and baskets system. the food isn't that good but it is really very cheap... but if you order a lot, it gets expensive quickly. Squeezy crampy place. continue reading

Almost forgotten that my classmates and I visited Nihon Mura as our celebration finishing the examination.Went to Nihon Mura for the buffet which cost me about S$20 included tax and service charge. The sushi are really ordinary but something that impressed me was that everybody got a choice of main meal which are quite exquisite. (Red Wine, foei gras, and salmon with cheese andother italian theme dish)I myself ordered the foie gras. The goose liver 'foie gras' is really perfectly cooked. The outer layer is a crunchy and inner layer is juicy. The sauce is sweet and salty and match well with foie gras. They serve a very generous portion although for my I thought it is quite small so I called up my friend and gave me his right of selection (kinda bad huh) but I helped him to order red wine since he was underaged by a few months. ==Overall, it is a good deal of money. Please do not eat anything in the afternoon to enjoy the buffet to the fullest continue reading
