Introduction
Noodle House Ken is a small ramen restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner in Orchard Plaza. The tiny place is similar to the ramen eateries in Tokyo, tables packed closely together, bringing the ambience of Japan to the restaurant. If you are a egg lover fan, then this thick pieces of egg omelette will certainly be able to delight you. The restaurant here is very comfortable and the staffs are equally friendly. I have ordered the usual ramen, and also this time I also first time trying their tamago. Surprisingly it is very tasty and smooth and soft in texture. The taste is very fragrant and also not too oily Try it and you will know why it tastes so good! continue reading

This char siew ramen soup is one of my favourite dish from this restaurant. The noodle is chewy and thick which is the ideal kind of noodle for me. The char siew is really big in size but is very thinly sliced to ensure the meat is not too tough and at the same time maintain its juicyness. Few slices of seaweeds and chopped spring onions are topped on it to add in that extra nutritious value to the soup. And not to forget the soup which is really thick and sweet which I think the sweetness of the soup comes from the long hours of boiling it with the meat bones. This is indeed heavenly delicious to me. continue reading

The ramen here has their special x-factor that bring in more crowds than the other ramen stalls is that their super power soup base. I have tried their corn miso ramen and immediately fall in love with the corn soup base. It is really sweet and thick and filled with lots of small little parts of the sweet corns. The ramen is chewy and not easily breakable. Some shredded roasted pork meats are topped on it too added that extra sweetness to this dish. Beansprouts and some long chopped onions are added to give that extra crunch when you are eating the ramen. This really taste yummy! continue reading

I've always known there was a popular ramen joint in Cuppage Plaza, but somehow never got around to finding out which one it was. All that changed last night. Yes, they open until 2am, late enough to feed your ramen craving after a night in town. It always feels like the lottery to me when I break open ramen eggs with my fork to see if liquid egg yolk oozes out of the boiled egg white. I won the lottery with this one. Certain ramen joints have fully hard boiled eggs in ramen for some unknown reason. The soup base was not flavourful enough for me and I ended up having to add a lot of spices. It wasn't too salty though, so that's a plus point. There were also about 4 thick slices of cha shu in the bowl which makes it more value for money. continue reading

I ordered their cha siew ramenI must say they were generous with the cha siew. There were three huge slices,I expected the pork to be quite tough but it literally melted in my mouth. Also tried their gyoza,it was nice but too expensive only 5 pieces & cost about $5++ which mean 1 is about $1 ++not really worth itOverall i rate 6/10 continue reading
