Many years back, this is the place that we visited frequently for their curry fish head.Re-visiting after a long while, the menu was revamped with a more vibrant peranakan style look. They have also added set menu into the selection and that is what we ordered today. To start off our meal, crackers and acar will always be served.Set B for 2 @ S$58++Seafood - Curry Fish HeadVegetable - Chap ChyeOther Specialties - Ngo Hiang, Otak OtakDessert- Dessert of the DayCurry Fish HeadTheir popular item. Ingredients used are fresh and the gravy is thick. It's not very spicy but if you can't take spicy stuff then you can take less of the gravy.Chap ChyeVegetables and mushrooms are cooked till soften. The vermicelli fully absorbs the flavour of the gravy. A very tasty dish.Ngo HiangOne of the best that I have tasted. It's fried till crispy and golden brown in colour. The texture and taste makes me feel this is the closest to the authentic version.Otak OtakTaste is not bad but no wow factor. A little spicy though.Dessert of the DayA choice of cold or hot dessert.Sago Gula MelakaThe cold dessert of the day. Strong gula melaka taste with loads of sago.Puloh HitamPiping hot! Smooth texture and not too sweet. I like this despite the fact that I am not a puloh hitam fan.

However their peranakan specialty : Nonya chap chye did brilliant, couldnt find else where that makes this zestful chap chye, if isnt for this dish i wouldnt come back for second serving

Shopping around Vivocity and saw a new Nyonya restaurant... Spicy food, wow, I like! They were quite fast in their service. After the appetizers, they soon served our drinks and then the Assam Curry fish head was ready. The waiter then use traditional basket with pandan leaves and scoop rice for us. Thoughtful of the waiter to add more rice for my boyfriend. The fish head is like their signature dish of the restaurant. I looked around at all the diners in the restaurant, all of them ordered this particular dish. Worth giving it a try. The assam curry was a little too spicy for me and my boyfriend. But, to all other hardcore chilli lovers, it tastes superb. The appetizers the restaurant staffs served us were a small tray of prawn crackers and ah jak (mixed cucumber, carrots with chilli sauce, served cold). The front cover of the menu. Think that it is rather special. Snap a picture of it. Ordered chinese tea for myself. Proved that it relieves the spiciness better than grass jelly. Haha!Grass jelly drink for boyfriend. The fish head was rather small. Lucky it was for 2 of us only. Within it, there are brinjal, long beans, tau pok. I enjoyed the food there, this restaurant can be considered one of the authentic nyonya food in Singapore. Will be back here again to try their chay chye, ngoh hiang, desserts, nyonya kuehs and so many more...

This is the Assam fish head curry. The taste is slightly different from the usual curry fish head. It's less tart and richer in flavour. The fish was quite fresh and the veggies were generous but not very memorable. I mainly remember the sauce was quite thick and good with rice but nothing that I would find particularly special. This is the ayam buah keulak and it's chicken cook with a special black nut. The nut was quite special and you can scrap out the filling to eat with your rice. Overall I like this dish.
