The restaurant is located at the second of the shopping centre, at the area formerly occupied by Loola's by Awfully Chocolate. The place is decorated simply with plain cement floor and old school like tables and chairs. It kind of reminding one of the days we have spent during our primary school times. The restaurant has a great view of Marina Bay Sands outside with its huge windows.During lunch time, the resturant offers lunch sets which comes with a choice of soft drinks or iced water. If one topup $4.90 more, the lunch set will come with a choice of coffee, tea or soft drink and a Dessert of the Bay.If one has chosen tea for the topup, there is Chamomile, Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Green Tea, Peppermint, Thai Iced Milk Tea to choose from.Interestingly the cup of Chamomile tea is served with a piece of Beehive Cookie (Kuih Rose) 蜂窝饼 which is usually available during Chinese New Year. The cookie must have been tasted real good because little JJ has finished it really quickly. The Dessert of the Bay turns to be banana cake. It is served hot. Beware of this plain looking cake. It is soft and moist, and does not taste too sweet too. Yummy! Even mummy gives a yes for it.Crispy Salted Egg Chicken ($12.90+)A popular local choice and taste, juicy chicken chunks lightly fried in olive oil before tossing in House Specialty Salted Egg Sauce, served with Garlic Butter Rice. One of their lunch sets which comes with a choice of soft drink/ iced water. Reminds one of the Zhi char style but cooked in a healthier olive oil style. It served with garlic butter rice, topped with a soft boiled egg which gives a beautiful looking lava yolk.Creamy Seafood Catch ($15.90)Fresh Tiger Prawn, Pacific Dory and Calamari grilled and served in a rich creamy sauce. Served with Garlic Butter Rice. One of the lunch set choices. Feel that the seafood has been marinated for a bit too long and tastes slightly salty. Truffle Fries ($13)Although it looks kind of simple and plain, it is served hot crispy outside and soft inside. The serving is huge too.Overall the food is not bad. The staffs are quite friendly and easy to get their attention as the place is not crowded at all. It is quite relaxing dining in there. continue reading
