There is a short queue during off peak hours and waiting time was about 5 minutes. Service was rather aloof. I got a cup of medium sized Q essential bubble milk tea which was recommended on their list. It costed $2.30 and I requested for no pearls, and 50% sugar level. It was quite sweet but taste was good. 50% of sugar level will definitely be the max I would go. If you have a sweet tooth, 50% would be sufficient too.

I saw quite a lot of people buying the Q Essential Bubble Milk Tea ($2.30 for Small, $3.50 for Medium) and so I decided to try it too. Oh well, Singaporean mentality at work here Their prices seemed rather reasonable, much cheaper than normal bubble tea shops. Maybe it's because it is situated in a university. My immediate thought was that it was quite small... and when I took a sip, it was definitely not thick enough for a respectable milk tea. It wasn't fragrant enough either and a little too

My immediate thought was that it was quite small... and when I took a sip, it was definitely not thick enough for a respectable milk tea. It wasn't fragrant enough either and a little toooo sweet even though I asked for 50% sweetness only. I think people bought from them because they are the only stall in The New World. But honestly my advice? Buy fruit juice from the adjacent Canteen A if you want a refreshing drink... the bubble tea here doesn't cut it for me.

New World Cafe provides a beautiful scenic environment, where you can see the sunset when you look out of the window glass panes. Like any other bubble tea shop nowadays, you get to select your sugar level. I ordered Hokkaido Milk Tea and got the 20% sugar level. Mind you, it was so extremely sweet I went back to the counter crew to question if he got my order correctly, and he said apparently hokkaido milk tea is naturally sweet, so please heed my advice and order 0% because i just felt like I was drinking EXTREME SUGARED WATER... really unpleasant and sulky experience for me.

My friend ordered peppermint milk tea, and the same goes for him in the level of sweetness, just that he ordered 50%. in the end he put water cooler water to dilute it. Oh well.

There is a bubbletea stall in this food court that replaced the Sakae Sushi in NTU and they have recently added this new dessert on their menu. It cost $4.50 but I think it was a good try. The base is grass jelly topped with different toppings of red bean, pearls and yu yuan (sweet potato and yam flavoured). I think the yu yuan was really Q and nice. My friend was saying that Blackball(another stall that offers this type of dessert at a few locations eg. Bugis Plus) is nicer. I look forward to t

I look forward to trying Blackball when I have the chance
