Finally Qiu Lian Ban Mian had opened a branch in the West after so many years. But the menu seem to be slightly different, this branch did not sell dry version of Ban Mian.Nevertheless I ordered the normal Soup You Mian with minced meat at $4.50. I saw in the kitchen that the You Mian was freshly came out from the noodle machine when I ordered. The Soup You Mian came steaming hot, the soup was too hot to eat immediately. The Soup You Mian came steaming hot, the soup was too hot to eat immediately. I had to wait a few minutes to cool down before eating.

I always like Qiu Lian Ban Mian soup base. However, this branch was slightly lighter in overall taste, not as meaty sweet. Maybe I was too early in the morning, the soup broth was still cooking.

The You Mian was good. It has a slightly springy texture and there was no floury taste. I liked the minced meat ball, it was marinated with seasoning and spices. I could tasted the crushed dried fish in the minced meat ball.

I did not notice the menu board stated that adding extra ikan bilis need to pay 50 cents. I told the stall lady that I wanted more ikan bilis, luckily she did not charge me extra for it.

Overall, this Ban Mian stall has very good Ban Mian, however I felt that the prices were slightly higher than other stalls in the vincity.

Tried their dumpling ban mee which costs $5.50. The texture of the noodles is smooth and isn't too hard or too soft. The dumplings tasted average but the skin of the dumplings isn't too thick so the fillings could be tasted clearly with every bite. The fried ikan bilis is crispy and I love that it enhances the taste of the soup. The vegetables are fresh too and adds colour to the dish. The chilli is sweet and goes well with the dumplings.

I had my first bowl of Qiu Lian Ban Mee from Lau Pa Sat but that didn't give me that kind of "wow" factor that most of them had been telling me. Thus the thought of giving them another try was quite reluctant for me.

The soup was tasty and filled with good aroma from the fried ikan bills with minced meat added to its sweet taste. Vegetables were added to the bowl with dumps of Mee Hoon Kway to the cloudy soup. Surprisingly I find that the stall from food republic is better than what I had first tried in their Lau Pa Sat branch. The taste of the soup was inviting, causing me to clear the bowl, not leaving a single drip.

Cost: $4 (After 10% discount showing passion card)

Ordered a bowl of fried fish ban mian for takeaway and it costed $5.80. The soup gets slightly salty when reaching the bottom. There were around 5 pieces of fish and they tasted average. Texture was soft and batter was soggy when soaked in the soup. Soup was not oily though. There were also lots of vegetables in it. The ban noodles were also cooked nicely and were not hard nor soft, or lumpy. Overall it was a decent meal.
