This was ginseng chicken soup for the soul. I came here drenched on a rainy afternoon with my dad looking for some soup to warm ourselves...and I guess it didn't take long for us to decide on this.for $25 we got ourselves a bubbling pot of goodness.there was a lot of chicken in this. But i guess that would be just about right for the price. it came with wolfberries and red dates and it didn't have a strong taste of ginseng. just a hint of it. we also grabbed a plate of mee sua and some mushrooms

for $25 we got ourselves a bubbling pot of goodness.

there was a lot of chicken in this. But i guess that would be just about right for the price.

it came with wolfberries and red dates and it didn't have a strong taste of ginseng. just a hint of it.

we also grabbed a plate of mee sua and some mushrooms and beancurd sheets to boil in the soup.

feel free to ask for soup refills.

this was a medium $15 pot that came with delightfully braised celery, onions and garlic topped with ginger slices and sprigs of spring onions. of course there were those delightfully succulent pieces of chicken.

What's there to do with all the gravy? Get more sides to dunk in. Dad grabbed two different kinds of mushroom and a plate of beancurd sheets. these go at 3 for $5.

And we also had plain rice at $1 a bowl.

It was very filling but oh so addictive. although i wish there was something that could be done about the numbing aftertaste of the gravy.

Coming here without a decision on what to eat is my biggest nightmare. Cheong Chin Nam Road is a stretch full of different cuisines. We're quite the epitome of melting pot when it comes to food offerings. And so I decided to walk in at No. 10 for Soup Master and XO Chicken Pot. They had two special promotions on a separate menu. Either the sesame oil chicken with noodles or rice. Or the Braised pork rice. Guess which one I picked? At just $3.80 on promotion (add a dollar for the usual price), this

At just $3.80 on promotion (add a dollar for the usual price), this was surprisingly generous.

Or perhaps it's just the many different toppings on the rice that made it seem so.

Half a hardboiled egg, braised tofu puff, stewed peanuts, salted vegetable ends and braised pork of course.

The peanuts had a sticky sweet sauce that I didn't fancy much.

But otherwise, I loved my deliciously satisfying lunch choice.

Ordered the Fried Tofu, Onion Egg, 2 Pig Stomach Soup, one pear and apple soup and the famous Pot Chicken to go with 4 bowl of pumpkin and 2 plain rice, and rinse down with a pot of good jasmine tea. Too much food for 4 pax, actually.I must say, all dishes are well prepared and as a cantonese, the soup is reasonable well boiled. However, expected tje pig stomach soup to be more peppery, while the pear/apple soup was a little too sweet. Will visit again, as the service is really 2 thumbs up... bu

Will visit again, as the service is really 2 thumbs up... but the price is a bit too high.
Total spent on the food mentioned was $$70... with wet tissue at $0.30/pc.

Boiling vegetables in the pot full of chicken essence gave the vegetables it's full taste! Sweet and tasty! We enjoyed our dinner! If you are a small eater, the small pot is good enough for 3 persons!
