We haven’t been Sunset way for many years. It used to be really quiet at night and weekend. It seems it has changed already. We reached there around 2+pm and we were starving. Restaurants were quiet though at this Sunday afternoon, probable the crowd has left.We chose the one and only coffeeshop there and decided to have zi char as a causal lunch. There weren’t many diners at that time. Once we placed our order, we could hear wok was on stove and action has started immediately. Seafood fried rice was the first dish to serve, rice was separated, we would taste the “wok qi” as it should have for Chinese stir fried food especial Cantonese cuisine, surprisingly prawns, fish slice and squid were big and fresh, the chef was generous in giving seafood ingredients, plus egg and lettuce, we thought it should be charging $6~8…. 2nd dish was claypot noodle, same as ingredients were generously given but we didn’t like the gravy though, 3rd dish was the salted fish fried with bean sprouts, taste fine too.Came to the bill, seafood fried rice was $4 only, it was definitely above value. I wonder how could they make money on it? If you are looking for a good seafood fried rice with value for money, this is definitely a place for you, trust me you won’t regret it. continue reading
