Tanglin Halt at Clementi has quite variety of selection. From Chicken, fish, steak, lamp, etc.. with different ways of cooking and different sauces. The price is very reasonable. They are quite famous for their chicken chop. For S$4.50, you can get a large portion of chicken, fries, beans and coleslaw. The chicken was not too fatty with the fatty parts removed for healthier purpose. A bit more sauce will perfect the dish. The fish was also big for the price of S$4.50. Crispy and not oily. The coating batter was just right. Not too thick. continue reading

Be prepared to queue if you want to eat here. Good news will be fast turnover rate 3 variations of chicken chops were presented today. personally preferred the original version. satay version was very nutty so if you enjoy nuts, go for this.black pepper version was not as spicy as I would have preferred it to be. but if you prefer milder spiciness, go for this.the fries that came together were timely fried and not soggy and yet soft within.Western food prepared the healthy way. Try them if you are in the area continue reading

If you hear about the famous Satay that costs $0.38 per stick in Clementi Market and Food Centre, I bet that you have heard about Tanglin Halt Western Food too. They are located side by side to each other stalls manned by owned relatives. While most of the western food stalls in neighbourhood are selling at a minimum cost of $5.50, Tanglin Halt Western Food did the extra ordinary rate selling them at $4.50 for the plate of chicken cutlet without compromising the food quantity. Self service was observed with the queues piling up during dinner hours. The gravy used was kind of different, brownish in color and sweet tasting topped onto the crispy chicken cutlet. The cutlet was fried to golden brown in color with substantial of meat within unlike some of the stall, their cutlet was filled of fatty meat under the batter.3 other sides like bean beans, fries and coleslaw was included on the Cutlet dish too. They were of the ordinary and not much to write about. Overall for economical Western Food, Tanglin Halt is still the best choice in Clementi. continue reading

Tanglin Halt Western Food Stall not only sells cheap chicken chop menus but also their Beef Steak is quite cheap. When the dish came, I was quite disappointed with the beef meat serving. The beef meat was quite small in size.Although the beef steak smelled good, the meat was however tough and chewy. They used the same sauce for the beef steak as for the Chicken Chop. Though good for French Fries and grilled chicken chop, it was quite strange to have sweet & sour sauce for beef meat. continue reading

This Western food stall always has quite a long queue whenever I visit here. This time, it took me around ten minutes before my turn is up and I can place my order. This stall is neat and clean, and the stall owner is friendly too. Have ordered my all-time favourite chicken cutlet which never failed to impress me. This deep-fried chicken meat is really crispy and is not really that oily or salty. THe batter used on the outer layer make it really crispy on the outer layer, but yet the meat inside is really tender and moist. The side dishes which include the crispy not too oily French fries and the crunchy fresh coleslaw are equally delicious as well. At merely $4.50 per plate, really affordable! continue reading
