This cafe visit was really a chance encouter with *Celine while shopping one day. We both heard of The Little Prince Cafe, but to pass by it, was another thing altogether. Hence, we decided to pop into this cafe situated at 62 Somme Road #01-03 Singapore 207877. This cafe visit was really a chance encouter with *Celine while shopping one day. We both heard of The Little Prince Cafe, but to pass by it, was another thing altogether. Hence, we decided to pop into this cafe situated at 62 Somme Road #01-03 Singapore 207877. They don't have a telephone number at this point.
The inside is pretty, a "Le Petit Prince" theme complete with wall art, lots of books and decorations with "The Little Prince" on them. It exudes a very relaxing and ethereal sense of charm, bringing out the stirrings of perennial child and fairy-tales in us. Look at the stark whiteness and books mounted on the walls. Ok, service was very friendly and hospitable as well, something that we did not expect in this hole-in-the-wall, "Little Prince" inspired eatery.
I am going to assure you that there is no strong aroma of coffee or flavored teas rushing to greet you when you push open the door and step into this tiny cafe. However, one sip of this Rose Latte (SGD$5.00) is enough to make you swoon - the aroma of the coffee is contained in this little glass, but the best part is the distinctive sweetness of rose flavor that wafts out from the piping hot coffee, like a hidden gem emerging from its raw hideout. Tempting to get another cup but did not want to risk losing sleep at night.
Now we are at exactly what drew us into this pretty little cafe! The mini slices of cakes in interesting flavors that looked so delectable. This one is the Chocolate Truffle Cake (SGD$3.90) and tasted exactly like a piece of melt-in-your-mouth truffle, sweet and holding a slightly-sandy overture. The chocolate flavor was rich, of course.
Lastly, the pale green patch of Avocado Cake (SGD$3.90), filled with aloe vera cubes within. The cake is gently sweet, resplendant with the taste of avocado. The cake was light and soft, and the bounciness of aloe vera strips added to its deliciousness.

    As I had marked this Little Prince Café as my To-Eat place for awhile, I decided we should go check it out! However, it started to rain & we went out with our umbrellas. We boarded the MRT to Farrer Park & after checking the map, we walked down the streets to look for 62 Somme Road. This is really my 1st foray into this area.      There were 4 other guests in the café when we reached. After we settled down & decided on our pastry & drinks, the others left the café. Hence, the whole café seems to belong to us! Thou theme cafes are very common overseas, especially like Japan & Taiwan, the growth in Sg is much slower. I was surprised that the Little Prince Café turned out to be smaller than I thought, thanks to the brilliant optical illusion drawing of the staircase! The whole place is hand-painted by the café's owner & we were impressed! Her love for Little Prince can be felt here ~~

     We didn't opt for their signature strawberry roll as we find that it's rather small. My friend chose the Passion Fruit cake, while I had the Strawberry Marshmallow Cake. For drinks, we ordered the Cappuccino & Ice Rambutan Tea. Both of us enjoy eating the cakes, thou I do not like Passion Fruit, I sampled a mouth of my friend's order ~ the Passion Fruit flavour is very strong! Accordingly to my friend, the Cappuccino tastes good too! We were told that just before we arrived, the café was packed. So being late turned out to be a blessing!

    It is a very small and artistic cafe. Heard the owner hand draw everything on the wall.She is so talented and its lovely.I ordered their ice rambutan tea. The tea brand they use is from Clipper. Quality is good. Drink is refreshing and nice. They were generous with including the actual fruit in the drink.I also ordered a wild mushroom quiche. It was nice and warm with salad on the side. Its a light and wild mushroom taste really good.

The cafe is small and sits approximately 15 to 20 people at full capacity.      Iced Rambutan Tea ($4.50): Freshly brewed tea with a generous helping of canned rambutans and sugar syrup on the side. Though I like the idea of having rambutans in my iced tea and chomping on them, the rambutans do not add much flavour to the tea.

     Scones ($4.50 for 2): The warm buttery homemade scones comes in two flavours – raisin and umami, and were served with clotted cream and marmalade on the side. Personally, I would have preferred the scones to be less dry and the umami taste to be stronger (there was barely any).

     Strawberry marshmallow cake ($3.90): The cake was soft and fluffy with pockets of marshmallow in every bite. It may appeal to those who love neapolitan ice cream, but I found it rather forgettable.

    Overall, the cafe is worth a visit for fans of The Little Prince and for those who are looking to laze the afternoon away at cafe with an unusual concept. Reasonable pricing and friendly service staff is a plus too!

Here, you can find drawings that resembles a homely decorated house, with a drawing of the Le Petit Prince on the opposite of what seems to be him being carried into the sky by some birds.      The Cream Puffs were on the house. These were by far impressive with its moistness and sponginess. Even the cream was pretty up to mark by being subtly sweet

     The Choco Eclairs ($2.50) are also pretty well done. The pastry was just of the right texture. The chocolate cream was alright, but was in the edge of sweet instead of richness.

     The Strawberry Swiss Rolls ($2.90) are often featured on blogs, and since they were only $2.90 for two I decided to go straight for them. No mistakes made; these are really soft and spongy with a nice layer of silky strawberry cream in the middle which fits together well.

    Tucked in a nondescript corner of a residential building (Residences @ Somme) near Pertain Road is a cute little theme cafe. You will like this place if you like whimsical things and is a definitely must go cafe if you are a Little Prince fan!! The cafe is not big, sits about 12 indoors and they have a few outdoor tables too.It faces a quiet little park which makes it lovely to just soak in the quiet neighborhood on a lazy afternoon Thats me posing for a photo with the lovely murals on the wall~

     There are more food choices on the menu board, but we didnt eat any coz we had our lunch before hopping to this cafe
