The Food Republic at City Square Mall is a lot smaller than the other Food Republics that we would be used to. This branch only offers 11 stalls as compared to the 20odd that we see in 313@Somerset or Wisma Atria. Nevertheless, there are many seats available and the ceiling is high -resulting in a rather pleasant food court environment. I went to try the laksa yong tau foo with thick bee hoon (chu mi fen) as my choice of noodle. I chose 6 yong tau foo pieces of my choice and opted for the laksa
The service here is really not bad, the yong tau foo uncle is friendly and courteous. He's patient with very single customer, acceding to their requests even if they make their decisions at the last minute. I saw on two occasions where a customer had decided to add on ingredients/remove ingredients at the last minute and he agreed to do it for them even though it would inconvenience him. He's also efficient with orders and I got my order within 5 minutes of queuing (there were 2 orders in front of me).
Gravy is good to the very last drop and ingredients and pretty fresh. Definitely will go back again for the yong tau foo -the prices are reasonable, the food is good and the service definitely wins customers
