Char Siew Wantan Noodles @$3.5
The roasted Char Siew was very nice, charred on the outside and succulent within. Love the slight charred and sweet sauce taste.

Roast Duck Noodles @ $3.5
Their roast duck is really good, fragrant crispy skin and the meat is not dry. Like the dark sauce that accompany the noodles as well, thick and not oily.

Fried Shrimp French Bean @$6
This dish is so-so. The shrimp and French Bean is a bit too wet and slightly oily.

Double boiled/long-simmered Lotus Soup
The soup is very nice! Lots of ingredient provided - lotus, lean meat and dried scallops. We can taste the Lotus and "sweetness" from the pork and scallop in every spoonful.

The Zi Char stall is actually at the back alley of the HDB hub, behind the Tiong Bahru Bao shop. The back alley had been renovated and "tidy up" with the intention to convert to a small food street.

Service is ok. They have an old uncle who helps to promote the food to every passer-by shouting "烧烧的烧鸭, 烧烧的烧鸭", competition seems steep along that small food street.

Hei Zou or prawn paste rolls: A must-order dish everytime I eat zi char. This hei zou is crispy, however the filling is not fragrant and dry. Passable sweet sauce. The beancurd topped with lots of spring onions and meat was the best dish of all. Kudos to the sauce that goes well with the chewy meat pieces and beancurd. The fish with onion dish tasted quite bland. Perhaps the chef could have cooked it with more seasoning. Our veggie dish with egg and century egg looked more like soup than vegetables

Our veggie dish with egg and century egg looked more like soup than vegetables. The veggies were too soaked but nonetheless, a passable dish.

I love their dumpling soup as well. Plump dumplings in a clear broth!

In conclusion, if I had a choice, I would prefer to go other zi char stalls.
