I have started eating their big meat pau when it was still at $1.40 and it has been raised to $1.60 for a piece now. If you go by early, you could actually see them making the different types of pau right at the stall. You could see them roll out the pasty to make the skin, preparing the filling, making it and putting them into the steamer.I have eaten many other meat pau but i would think this is one of the nicest big meat pau that i ever eaten. The skin of the pau is not too thick with a nice fluffiness and softness. It still tasted good even after left it for a bit. The filling consists of nicely seasoned chunky pieces of meat with a slice of hard boiled egg. There is the selection of pork and chicken filling. It requires a certain effort to bite it carefully to avoid the overflowing of the juice in it.
Another item that i enjoy is the Siew Mai. It came in 4 pieces for $2.20. Though it could not matched up to those Siew Mai from those restaurants but it tasted good in a simple way. The marinated chunky piece of meat was shaped up and wrapped in a thin piece of wanton skin and steamed it well. It tasted flavorful and rather moist too.It usually sold out in the evening so be there early to avoid disappointment.
