Tried this place with my colleagues yesterday as the shop looked quite hip and attractive. We only realised it when we sat down that this place only served beef noodles for their main dishes, and one of my colleagues who doesn't take beef ended up ordering a veg dish and a side dish (sweet sour white bait). To our surprise, the white bait turned out to be ikan bilis with peanuts sprinkled with some sugar... for $2.90 which is normally side dish at a Chinese restaurant, we felt that it was too e
There was two choices for noodle - thin or broad. two of us had the thin noodles and one of the other gals had a broad noodles. We ordered the combination, beef brisket, and beef brisket & tendon to try. The dishes arrived rather promptly and was very pleasantly presented. However when all of us tried the beef soup, we were all visibly disappointed. The soup lacked flavour which was fortunately compensated by the well marinated beef brisket. Having said that, there was no detection of the taste of beef bones and its mild after taste was like that of water - the same kind of 'taste' when my mom is in a rush and don't have time to boil our Cantonese soup long enough. We weren't expecting the same standards as though in Yong Kang St (Taipei) but I was honestly disappointed. I guess the shop is still new, and they may need to make a number of improvements.
Don't think I will pay this price for this standard.
