It has been months since I have last eaten this and only today then did I realise the pong pia that I was raving about is actually called beh teh soh. Actually, both are essentially made of the same stuff, just that the beh teh soh is more crispy with a thicker top crust and the beh teh soh has sesame seeds on it while pong piah doesn’t. This beh teh soh is really best eaten fresh on the day, since its pastry will be absolutely fragrant and crispy. The interior maltose filling is very nice and not too sweet either, such that I finished two beh teh sohs in one sitting! This is really one of the best I have ever eaten.
