I had never thought much of a bowl of grass jelly (chin chow) until I read this food blogger's review of the chin chow sold by this old lady at her stall. As I had my lunch at Goldenmile Food Centre, I decided to check out this stall as well. Usually, the syrup in the bowl of grass jelly is high on the sweet side and it sort of override the taste of chin chow. However, the syrup in this bowl of chin chow had just the right level of sweetness, which complement well with the bitterness of grass jelly. I guess this is the right taste of the chin chow dessert! You could also choose to add toppings which include atap seed, longans, sea coconut etc.
