This is a memorable dinning experience for me because my Grandpa brought me to try Kim's Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee for the first time when they used to be at Ang Mo Kio a very long time ago. I vividly remember a middle-aged Uncle in a long-sleeves shirt wearing a Rolex watch frying hokkien prawn mee. I remember him as a friendly Uncle with a broad smile.

When i was at Nex for a movie preview, i wanted a quick dinner at this food court before proceed to the theatre. I spotted this stall though i did not see that familiar Rolex Uncle there frying Hokkien Prawn Mee but i still decided to try it. Though he was not there in person but i saw his pictures on display.

I ordered the smallest serving for $4.50. I paid and stood there to wait for 5 minutes before gotten my plate of Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee. The ingredients like the prawns and squids tasted reasonably fresh. The sambal chilli tasted a little disappointing though, the spiciness was pretty mild, the bright red color of the chilli seemed hot but it tasted not quite, at least it is so to me.

When mixed it well, it was rather moist in texture and not soggy, it tasted pretty well with the prawn stock infused noodles. It seemed to be much nicer when it was fried by the Rolex Uncle then as compared to this particular plate. The standard is definitely not quite the same, close perhaps but not the same.

The overall taste of the Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee was rather passable but definitely not good enough to reckon a return in the near future.
