Now if you love Mediterranean food, give 21 on Rajah a try. It's at a new hotel called Days Hotel and is located along Jalan Rajah Road. If I'm not wrong, they have free shuttle bus services to and from the hotel at Novena so it's not that hard to go. The setting of the restaurant is very bright and cheery with blue and white as the colors and bird cages hanging from the ceiling. It's a more western setting feel, so those who are unfamiliar with Mediterranean settings can feel at ease. The dining is meant to be communal style (which is very Asian) so dishes are meant to share.

This is a soft bread that comes with a tomato based dip. Really soft and fragrant and you will be tempted to just keep noshing on it but remember to save room for the other dishes.

I love this starter! It's crostini of smoked eel. It is really delicious. A lovely savory and verrrryy slightly smokey flavor. It pairs perfectly with the crunchy toasted crostini bread and doesn't taste like the usual grilled eel. A little more like pork texture.

This is one of my favourite dish here - the Halibut cooked "Lisbon style" which I think means is braised in water. The fish is buttery and well cooked and soaks up all the flavours in the sauce. This is a very hearty dish so must have enough room if you order it.

This soup is called the Marseilles Seafood Bouillabaisse and is very good! The chef told us that it takes about 2 days to cook this soup! All the stewing and cooking the seafood makes the broth so rich and delicious. Quite a big pot and I think can be shared between 2 people if you don't order too many other things. Really love it, you can taste the seafood and work it takes to make it. However, you will tend to feel quite thirsty after it so drink loads of water.

Finally, no meal is complete without a dessert. We had the bread and butter pudding with dates. Due to the dates, it tastes "fresher" than most bread and butter I've tried which can be quite heavy and creamy. Next time, I would like to try their other dessert such as the Strawberry Tofu cheesecake or the pumpkin creme brulee.

This place is worth a visit as I feel it's a calm and cosy place to have a great lunch or dinner with friends. The staff are very friendly and I will definitely pop by again for another meal.
