Café Lyubi Menya (Closed)

Just around the corner from Sim Lim Square, this is one of the only places in Singapore to get home-style Russian cooking. It's a small cafe, but the Uzbek chef whips up wonderful Plov, which is yellow rice cooked with meat (think of it as Eastern European biriyani). The Plov is oily and satisfying, so balance out your meal with a fresh Russian salad of tomato, onion, and cucumber. If you have any doubt that the cooking is authentic, at night you occasionally see Russian model-types eating here
