But the highlight of our meal was my bf’s meal–a beef hotplate, with seared salmon and black pepper fried dory! Very sumptuous huh? I tasted the beef gravy and found it tasty but a tad salty. I realised that the food in ichiban boshi is very tasty, but mostly because they use very heavy sauce. He really loved the beef and said it was once of the best he had eaten here in sg.

The dory was quite normal, and the seared salmon even came with a sauce.. its supposed to be a bit like seared tuna, with the outside cooked and inside still raw. Good nonetheless but perhaps with this freshness taking it raw was better?

My only gripe was the gyoza.. it was fried, not panfried, and came in a heavy teriyaki type sauce again. Too much fried, and because it was in the sauce, not crispy anymore. I would not recommend this dish.

All in all we were very very satisfied and they can be sure we would be regulars!
