Its not herbal but pepper

Have always wanted to try this bak kut teh joint after seeing it always buzzling with people. There are 2 units for this joint along the shop huse, one is aircon setting while the other is not, prices wise they are the same. I always had the impression that this place serves the herbal version instead of the peppery one but i was wrong, they serve the pepper version as well. Ordered premium loin ribs which has more meat and also lean, braised pig trotters, groundnuts, kai lan and one you tiao. W

I always had the impression that this place serves the herbal version instead of the peppery one but i was wrong, they serve the pepper version as well. Ordered premium loin ribs which has more meat and also lean, braised pig trotters, groundnuts, kai lan and one you tiao. Wet tissue are at 20 cents each, also add 7% gst on top of your bill. I wouldn't say i'm entirely satisfied with this meal, maybe i had too much expectation, most of the dishes taste normal to me and i could not understand the reason behind the crowd. The soup is darker than most pepper version but it did not impress me enough.

But it does still hv the buzz of a old coffee house with option of drinking kungfu tea though i hardly see people doing it as most are younger working crowds diners.
