It is usually difficult to get a table at Ichiban Sushi on 6/F of Plaza Singapura even on weeknights as this outlet is smaller than other branches of this popular chain of Japanese restaurants. However diners have been flocking to the new restaurants in the recently opened extension wing, so we didnt have to wait at all for a vacant table at dinner time on Tuesday. This branch is more cramped than the branches at Centrepoint & Suntec City possibly due to higher rents & smaller shop atea, ventilation could also be improved as our clothes reeked faintly of deepfried foods by the end of our meal. Service is no better than at other restaurants in that you have to ask before your glaringly empty glasses were topped up. Iced green tea was rather dilute & came at close to room temperature.

Food is average & standards have not gone up whilst prices of the bentos have risen by $1++ to $3++. Unlike my dinner mate I opted out of the bento & ordered the teriyakisalmon $10.90++ and mini california roll $4.20++. California rolls were tasty & coated abundantly with ebiko. The salmon fillet's size had shrunk & was slightly overcooked. Could discern the salmon's taste & because I didn't order a bowl of rice, found the teriyaki sauce bathing the fish rather salty.
