This restaurant is nestled in The Grassroots' Club which is right next to Yio Chu Kang MRT station.

A comfortable and cosy place painted with hues of blue with warm orange lighting. Was introduced to Mr James Wong, the owner and he shared the idea behind the name of his restaurant. He's definitely a friendly and welcoming chap.

Started of with the Calamari Rings which were lightly fried and crispy. Not too much oil hanging around; which was a good thing. They were really large sized, nothing like those you see at Burger King. A great starter that will definitely whet your appetite and get the kids ready for the meal ahead. No soild ring of squid meat was found inside though (Me thinks/tastes).

The soup in a bread bowl is something you want to skip. Couldn't make out what was going on inside the bun. Also tasted the mushroom soup which was just as unpalatable. Not tasty and too much water with some clumpy lumps floating around.

Went for the main course and boy was I delighted! Ordered the Pan-Fried Marlin Fish Fillet (sashimi grade) with white pepper sauce" and had a nice solid chunk of firm, well-cooked fillet. Mr James Wong also shared with us the types of fish meat that ranged from the squishy ones to the firmer ones such as marlin.

Deeply enjoyed the deep-sea fish meat that was lightly salted and the portion was honestly pretty alright for the price. Nonetheless, I was a bit put off by the sauce which DEFINITELY did not complement the meat at all. I would think pan frying the meat for just half a minute more would have brought out even more flavour too.

Don't get me started on the sides though. I mean, if you are eating with clients and business partners and there you are cutting through a hashbrown and eating cup corn...not very classy isn't it. Plus the fact that the veggies aren't soft enough. A baked potato, fresh slices of tomato and cucumber and couple of Romaine and Red Oak lettuce leaves would have been so much easier, cheaper and still tastier.

Finished off the meal with a cute little bowl of Caramel Pudding which was such a sweet treat :3 A sugary dessert made with custard powder, condensed milk and well, caramelised sugar. A definitely hit with children though it might be a tad sweet for those who don't have a sweet tooth. Sorry no picture here because I finished it up too quickly ^^ I have a whole row of sweet teeth.

Nevertheless, it's a nice place to chill with friends and hang out for a meal. Prices are reasonable.
It's halal certified, has two express outlets and even offers catering services!
