I ate at Shokudo a few times before I gave up on it. I have no idea why the queue is so long during peak hours! There's no reason for it to be.Shokudo is like your Marche, just that it's japanese style. There is a large variety of different Japanese cuisines, such as your ramen, sushi, teppanyaki etc. There's something for everybody I guess. I've tried the ramen, as well as the teppanyaki. I've tried the ramen, as well as the teppanyaki. I don't really find it special, as the soup of the ramen was really salty. I also tried the dish with rice, side dish and an egg on top, and the rice did not even taste like the authentic Japanese rice that we so love.
One thing that I actually liked was the drink, there's this special macha drink that taste quite good, as the macha tea taste was really strong, yet sweet at the same time.
Prices can be quite comparable to Marche's. I guess the good part is that there's ample of space for gatherings to take place, and it really just feels like a food court once you are inside. Other than the Green Tea Macha, I do not recommend that you queue up for this restaurant.
