Visited White Sands Mall with Hubby & was surprised to find that the Food Court on the 3rd floor was closed for renovation. The price for the other cooked food cafe, outlets or restaurants were scarily expensive in the Mall. For instance, a set meal of Bak Chor Mee or Hor Fun with a drink costs approximately S$8...which cost less than $6 at any Foodcourt. This is ridiculous! This is ridiculous!

So we ventured out of the Mall to get some decent priced hot food.

It was our first time eating here at Ananas Cafe.
At first glance, there were only 2 queues. 1 for the Nasi Lemak Section & the other for the Chicken Rice & Noodles Section. Then the Chicken Rice stall operator requested us to form another queue when the line started to get a little too long. I was very glad that he did that as my queue had suddenly reduced to only 2 people, just the person in front & me!

While waiting, I took a closer look at the menu on the wall & was spoiled for choices. My healthy diet plan just gone down the drain as soon as I saw there was about 2 bowls' worth of Laksa gravy left in the pot! How lucky could I get?!
Resistance was Futile!
Yum-yum...

It was a big, decent bowl of Thin Bee Hoon Laksa ($3.50). The Bee Hoon had started to absorb the gravy by the time I sat down with my hubby. Mmm...
The Bee Hoon was soft & was filled with the fragrance of the spices of the Laksa gravy.
The cockles were scalded to perfection in Q-ness.
There were plenty of crunchy been sprouts & the Laksa leaves...my favorites!
The slices of fishcakes tasted springy.
The half piece of hard-boiled egg was not hard & dry at all...infact, the yolk tasted marvelous after absorbing the Laksa gravy...I'm salivating...
The chili paste was fine, smooth & spicier than its look...sweats just kept dripping down my face...
The thickness & fragrance of the gravy is to die for...
One word...  "SHIOK!"

Hubby said his Mee Rebus ($3) was just as robust!
Looking at the droplets of sweat on his face, I totally agreed with him.

Verdict:

Tips: Remember to bring lots of tissues.

For sure we'll be back for more.
