i've been wanting to try bella pizza at robertson quay for quite a long time already! i always walk past it when we go there. and i've heard lots of good reviews about it!
the pizzas there are really interesting, with their thin crispy airy crust, which is not overly so and satisfyingly good. they have three main categories of pizza - the red pizzas (those with tomato sauce), the white pizzas (cream/no sauce) and the wrapped pizzas (can't remember the exact name, but they're pizzas shaped like giant curry puffs xD)
the pizza con rucola ($25) had a generous pile of wispy thin strips of Parma ham and a mix of mozarella and parmesan cheese. i loved the parma ham!
and the arugula added a refreshing twist to this meaty pizza.
ooh i really enjoyed the pizza pollo ($20). there is just something so homely about a chicken pizza (: the interesting part of this dish was supposed to be the avocado. i love the combination of chicken & avocado!
but but but.....unfortunately they ran out of avocado that day
sigh. interesting element gone. but the nice thing was that they allowed us to replace the avocado with another ingredient, and we chose some sort of mushroom which i can't remember the name of! too exotic
but it was nice! (:
hmmm we ordered 5 types of pizza altogether (that's the good thing about dining in a big group!
you get to try a bit of everything!) and i tried four. the other two i tried were the pizza bella pizza ($26) and the pizza slamone ($21). since the former carries the restaurant's name, it was definitely a must-try.the pizza salmone was tasty as well, with smoked salmon atop a bed of cheese (:
