I went with a girlfriend to bugis for steamboat at chong qing. We went on a weekday afternoon so there was totally no crowd, nobody to fight for ingredients with us. They offered us the yuan yang pot for which we picked their pork ribs soup and mala soup. For their mala soup, they have three levels of spiciness, xiao la, zhong la or da la. We picked the least spiciness as my friend was not a chilli fan. There were plenty of ingredients to choose from, the mushroom itself had plenty of choices. They had my favourite luncheon meat too! Their varieties of seafood was a lot as well. I love their crab, it even had egg roe in it. The both soups are delicious, the pork ribs one is so tasty, everything you cook in it comes out very tasty. The mala is very spicy, but it did give some hotness to the ingredients.
