My colleague and I happened to be around Hong Lim Food Centre one day and decided to check out this Bak Kut Teh stall. I haven't eaten at a hawker centre like this for years because I don't really like the oily and smokey atmosphere that sticks to your clothes. Anyway, I was prepared for a spicy lunch since my impression of Bak Kut Teh was that it usually has a lot of pepper. Anyway, I was prepared for a spicy lunch since my impression of Bak Kut Teh was that it usually has a lot of pepper. But surprisingly, the Bak Kut Teh here came in a dark soup which was sweet and not spicy at all (much to my delight). The yam rice was quite nice too with large cubes of yam. I felt that the portion of meat was too little though it was a really cheap lunch ($3).
