As compared to the original Jiufen Taro Balls, Blackball Singapore did better in terms of the amount of ingredients you can find in there. There're red beans, pearls, taro balls, taro Q, sweet potato balls, and lots of ice. The chewiness of these balls is also better than the original. The original was not really chewy, but rather, more sticky. The flavouring of the balls is also more intense, you can taste the yam and sweet potato in the taro balls and sweet potato balls more distinctively. The
It's rare to find Taiwanese food in Singapore that beats the original... but Blackball does it. What it could have done better - provide with more of each ingredients, especially the taro and sweet potato balls. There's so much more pearls and grass jelly pudding than the balls, I can't help but feel a little cheated.
It costs $4.90.
Just nice to share for two people, but too little for three. I shared with two other friends and I was left craving for more.
