Had a very busy morning yday and thus me n my fellow colleagues decided to indulge ourselves for a nice lunch.. As we all fancy Japanese Food and you could at the least go wrong with Japanese food, we decided on Tampopo, and the outlet @ Liang Court is always our 1st choice as it's the nearest to our working place n nt as crowded as other outlets.

the moment u stepped into the restaurant, the shelf near the entrance displaying the lovely n tempting cakes always draws attention. so u started craving for desserts even before u decide wat to have for lunch.

One of my colleagus frequent Tampopo at least few times a month. She ordered her usual fav Black Pig Layered Pork Cutlet luxurious set. She can finish the whole set on her own, with side dishes, despite her petite size. I suppose the size of stomach does not always correlate wif the body size!

My other colleague ordered the fried rice. A bit different from the usual oriental tze char style, nt as oily and tasty! they are quite generous wif the ingredients, n so my colleague had a very satisfying meal.

i ordered the mini ramen, as usual, even thou Tampopo is famous for their rice sets. The normal portion is always too big for me. Tampopo is the only place i knw serving mini-meal besides Kids Meal (Thou i always wanted to try their kids meal too). good for me at least i feel less guilty by finishing the whole portion and not wasting food.

They now have the Free Upgrades to Black Pig for all the pork set! So good for those who nvr tried Black pig before. As for myself i dun really take meat and so i cnt really tell the diff betweem normal and black pigs.

While waiting for our orders to be served, we were already looking at the choices of cakes. We were too hungry and so i decided to hav some snacks served fast! and so we chose the Mochi.

The 1st bite of the Mochi brought me to heaven! it's really really nice!! quite different from the usual Japanese Mochi made of rice flour. It looks a bit transparent and taste more springy than the usual Mochi. ok nw Tampopo is on my list for Best Mochi after Ichiban ^^

I am a small eater myself for main course, but i always have that extra little room for desserts!! after our heavy main course, time for the cakes!! My colleague recommended the chocolate and the cheesse cake.

We're in heaven again~~
The Chocolate cake is nt as moist n heavy as those selling at Secret Recipe. The texture of the cake is more spongy, looks dry but not at all when it melted in your mouth!! the texture a bit like the steamed cakes... slightly rubbery.

The Cheese Cake taste more like a Cheese-flavoured Chiffon cake. Its very very light, not like the usual heavy new york cheese cakes, which is just nice as dessert after the heavy lunch.

And so, we had a very satisfying lunch cum tea break at tampopo!
