I never could really understand what the big deal was about Timbre – I mean, bars good food, good music and drinks readily available are not really rare in Boat Quay. However, the birthday girl loves Timbre so there I was.Grouses: the staff are not very attentive, though when you get their attention, they are really friendly. And you can never really just ‘pop by’ the place; you need to make a reservation – which they will only hold for 15 minutes. Not very friendly to me.Either way, my friends

Either way, my friends and I got a place by the river, which was pleasant enough. We ordered pizzas and fried sides to share. The buffalo wings – much raved about – were as good as they looked! Definitely worth getting, if at Timbre. The pizza were pretty good too – not too thin that the dough is really just crisp, yet not too thick to fill you up immediately. I liked it, and will be back to try the Peking Duck.
The beer is pretty good too – they have Erdinger on tap! That is fabulous news to me, except they serve their Erdingers with way more than the standard two fingers of foam. My glass was not exactly full too. The mocktails are pretty good too (my girls don’t drink) and not sickeningly sweet like some bars make them.
However, we did not stay long enough to hear the band because (a) the seats were so small and uncomfy. We were by no means fat, so I wonder how long you are meant to stay there. (b) The tables are small! The two tables combined could not fit both pizzas and our two sides (deep fried mushrooms and fries; give both a miss), so we had to polish off one pizza to fit the other.
My advice? Don’t head here unless someone really wants to.
