I can't emphasize how much I love crispy buttery kaya toasts. Although it is so simple, but it is very delicious. I ordered ala carte since I already had enough caffeine for the day. The ala carte order for the traditional kaya toast is $1.40 or $1.50 if I remember correctly. The toast is sliced half before toasting which allows both sides to be as crispy as possible. Of course this ensures maximum spread of kaya and butter on the toasts the thinner the toasts is. The mix of butter and gooey kaya is really heavenly with the hot toasts. Do have your toasts hot/warm and not leave it lying there since the toast will not be as crisp and it will not be as nice.
