After a movie at Marina Square my friends and I decided to have dinner at Waraku Japanese to celebrate his birthday!I liked the ambiance of the place, rather japanese like with wooden furniture, etc. As we were a large group (8pax) it was very crammed as we were placed in a 6 seater table. The sashimi slices were nice and fresh, coupled with soya sauce and wasabi, it really tasted good! However there were only 3 thick slices given, which i feel was rather costly.
Nabeyaki Udon
I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon - $15.80. We had a choice of either beef or chicken and i choose chicken! The soups were tasty and light, so don't expect a thick rich flavour. However, i do like the light tasting soup very much. I loved the udon as it was thick, chewy and did not taste like a 'flour-paste' like some do. The dish is stock full of ingredients such as chicken, seaweed, a variety of mushrooms and a juicy and crispy tempura which i loveeddddd. It was served in a adorable little claypot.
My friend ordered the hokkaido don which was prettily decorated with many slices of salmon on the top of the bowl with shredded egg sitting underneath it.
Wasn't very cheap, but a pretty good place to dine for its ambiance and good service.
