Ramen Dining at Daikokuya (大黑屋)
Daikokuya Ramen Dining
2013-12-17
Since we had been eating at the same old places in Raffles City, we decided to try some other restaurant instead and in the end, decided to eat at a Japanese Restaurant, “Daikokuya (大黑屋)”This was a small restaurant located at one side of the shopping mall and most of the tables and seats are quite close to each other. We were quite lucky as we were allocated with a table as soon as we entered the restaurant. The staff are all very busy due to dinner peak hours and there were people starting to form a queue outside while we are ordering our dishes. This Ramen was stated as one of the Chef’s recommendation Ramen in the menu but when it is being served to me, I felt that it was very much like those hawker / coffeeshop handmade noodle texture and taste. The ramen is being served with a few ingredients including boiled egg added onto it and a bowl of soup. I would say not a bad dish to try though there should be some better ramen within these menu.Ramen tasted something like those instant noodles (More QQ texture) being added to a salad dish with some mayonnaise cream added onto it. The overall taste was quite refreshing and acceptable for the first time but it seems to be quite oily from the mayonnaise cream after you were nearly finishing the food. Would prefer if they add those 0% fat salad sauce instead of cream sauce.…Read More

Dinner treat at NYDC
nydc
2013-12-17
NYDC at Wheelock Place was located at level 2. The queue over at NYDC was still fine (Maybe still early) so we do not need to wait for long to be allocated a table for 4 pax. The staff were friendly even though they were quite busy during the evening dinner rush hours and the place are quite spacious with enough walking space for the staff to serve the dishes to customer.I loves the minty lime flavor as it was just nice in between of sour and sweetness. The blackcurrent Soda was ok only for me. From the menu, you can opt for a scoop of ice-cream to boost up the drinks at an additional of $3.50.The base of the pizza was crispy and highly recommended by my sister. I felt that the chef should add in more cheese (I loves cheese) to make it every nicer as just mushroom by itself will not taste great for a pizza standard. The chicken chop was served in a thick portion which was just nice for me to finish it and feeling very full. Meat itself was tender and I loves their Cajun cooking style which enhanced the overall taste of this dish. The dish was served together with boiled broccoli and herb butter rice.By default, this dish was being prepared using white cream but my sister opt for the choice of preparing it using tomato sauce version. I would say though the pasta was nicely prepared, I do not really like the taste of the sauce as it was being prepared with very little tomato sauce. Overall still a fine dish.…Read More

Hansang Korean Restaurant &Market at Old Turf City
HanSang Korean Restaurant & Market
2013-12-17
Turf City now had become a hub for many different restaurants, we walked around and decided to go for a new Korean restaurant named “Han Sang Korean Restaurant & Market” which was located next to Giant Shopping mall (Enter from outside near carpark) having business as both restaurant and a Korean supermarket (Though did not really sell a lot of Korean stuff). This restaurant actually serves buffet or ala-carte dining. There were quite a lot of people dining at this place when we were there and most of them are having buffet style which you can eat all you want from a buffet bar in the middle of the restaurant. We decided to just go for a la carte meal instead after taking a look at the price and the buffet dishes being displayed (Not much choices, high in price so not value for $).In term of staff, I do not think they were very friendly type though I would say they were not rude too. Just normal serving and you must get their attention in order to get what you wanted. We just looked through the menu and chat while waiting for our dishes to be served. One thing to note about these side dishes were that they are only set of serving per table. You need to ask the staff to refill any finished dish so we need to get the staff attention to refill these plates every now and then as 3 of us were eating such a small dish. The Kimichi were very spicy which was not really to my likely while the potato salad seems nicer to eat. Peanuts were too hard and rest nothing much to comment. This set comes with a stone pot rice and so called “Side dish” which were those photos I took above. We order a total of 4 set meals yet just 1 set of side dish. You need to mixed the rice as soon as it was being served as it was super hot and the rice might get burned (Which mine already got some burned at the side) if you were slow. The hot rice was quite nice to eat though the rice itself should be using those cheapo type as they do not taste really nice to eat.Cooking style the same as those saba fish type except this dish was using mackerel as the ingredient. Not bad and it was nicely cooked and prepared. This was a pork meat soup based on kimchi and as I said earlier, the kimchi served here was too spicy for my likely so I did not really drink this soup except for the ingredients inside like mushroom, meat, and beancurd. The bulgogi chicken was not bad in term of taste though I think I was looking for water when I was eating this dish. It seems like they had added some ingredients which cause my throat dry and requesting for water to wash it away (Hope was not MSG).…Read More

Tsubohachi @ Bugis+

We kindly of passed by this Japanese restaurant which kind of attracted our attention with lanterns at its main door. So we decided to go in and have our lunch as we are starving after a long walk. The staff were very friendly and directed us to a table as soon as we step into the door. When we entered, I was quite impressed by the decoration and the layout of the place. There are some traditional style table seats which mimic Japanese seating while there are quite a lot of Japanese display within the restaurant. The whole place seems to be comfy and spacious too though I did not see a lot of customer eating here (Just 2 groups of customers when we were there).Anyway, since this was the first time we eaten at this restaurant, we just proceed to look through the menu and started to order our dishes. The service here were great as the staff were fast to refill your green tea when you were finishing it.The salad being served with some crackers sprinkled on top of it which seems so much like Chinese Yu Sheng style. Vegetables were very fresh with a few thin slice of Salmon sashimi too. The best thing I love about this dish was the use of Wafu Dressing though you can choose other salad dressing like Sesame / Ao-Shiso / Caesar too. The whole feeling of eating salad had come to a different level for this dish. Highly recommendedThe dish was being served using a hotplate which can keep the soba from getting cold while you slowly eat the nice dish. I like the sauce being used though I felt that they should give more pork meat for this price (Just saw a few very thin slice of pork in it). Overall, it was a nice dish for a meal. This dish was being served in a very interesting way. When the staff served the dish, it was not yet fully cooked yet and the staff explain that we need to wait for another 20 minutes before opening the lid to eat it. During these time, the staff lighted up a candle heater below the dish. Both Rachel and I had a great time chatting while waiting for the dish to be ready for us to eat. Luckily, the dish turn out to be quite nice and interesting to eat. With those mushroom and eels within the rice mixed with those ingredients that I poured in too. Good and interesting dish and you can choose other types of meat too like Salmon / Seafood / Chicken.…Read More

Dinner Time over at Brotzeit (The Star Vista)
Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant
2013-12-17
My ex-colleagues had organized a dinner cum drinking gathering over at Brotzeit located at The Star Vista on Tuesday (30 April 2013). For anyone who wish to have their meals at this place (Especially dinner), it would be best to call them and make reservation. When I was there, there were a lot of people queuing for their turn to dine in this place. Luckily we had make reservation as we had a bigger group of people eating. The restaurant was quite big as it uses both in-house (With Aircon) and outdoor area for customer to dine at the restaurant. Space between each tables were still consider ok though the place can be quite noisy with all the customer trying to fight with each other with their loud voice while trying to chat with their friends. The staff there were nice and friendly who will introduce some of the drinks if you were unable to make up your mind.A lot of people came here due to their beer and of course their house special which was the pig knuckle. We order some draft beer (During happy hours) and to our surprise, these was served in very big beer glass.Unlike those pizza that we had over at pizza huts, these were square shape and was more crispy and full of ingredients. The pizza includes Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Bacon, onions, vine ripened tomatoes and chilli. This was one of the best dish and the biggest that I had eaten so far. The platter recommend 4 to 5 pax to eat it but since we are Asian, I think up to 7 pax can have this meal and still will be just nice or full to all. From this platter, the main dish were Pork Knuckle, Different varieties of sausages, Pork Schnitzels (Crispy Pork Chop) and you get to choose 2 side dishes to go with the platter all for $88.00.Ente which was roasted duck on top of mashed potatos was not a bad dish to try out. The meat was very tender and not tough to eat at all. …Read More

A simple meal at Malaysian Food Street
KL Jalan Alor Hokkien Mee - Malaysian Food Street
2013-12-17
After we had visited S.E.A Aquarium, we have our lunch at Malaysian Food Street. We say many people queing at this stall and thought we give it a try. This hokkien mee was very special as thick noodles which seems to be like Japanese Udon was used and it was being fried in black soy sauce which I had eaten in another place before which I kind of like the taste of it. But for this dish, I am not sure if the was because there are too many people queuing for it where they are rushing for time, the quality was not good at all. Firstly, the Noodle was not nicely cooked as there are still some parts which I felt is uncooked (Hard). Secondly, the soy sauce was not really marinated with the Hokkien Mee, it was more like it was being covered with lots of black soy sauce as I can still taste strong soy sauce. Lastly, it is very oily though not sure if it was due to black soy sauce or they added too much oil to it. I would not recommend to eat at this stall though I am not sure why there are so many people queuing for it.…Read More

Bad Dining Experience at Toast Box
TOAST BOX
2013-12-17
It was a lovely Saturday morning, me and my friends planned to go Sentosa for the S.E.A. Aquarium. Before we enter Sentosa, we decided to go for our breakfasts at Toast Box.The Toast Box which we went to was located at Vivocity level 3 connected to food republic foodcourt There were already lots of people having their breakfast within the foodcourt and Toast Box when we reached there but we are lucky to be able to get a table of 5 people seats without much waiting (Free seating). We were given our drinks right after the order was taken including the half boiled eggs though we need to wait for our bread to be done.Everything went quite well until one of my friend saw that the staff given us all dirty spoon instead of clean ones. There are quite a lot of stain on every spoon that my friend went back to the staff to replace all those dirty spoons. But instead of apology for the dirty spoon, the staff just quickly took the spoon from her and give her a new sets. In the same time, remove all the spoons from existing container to re-wash them again. I wonder how many of the earlier customer used those stained spoon since we are like the first to highlighted these to the staff. The half boiled eggs were quite standard though I think these were a bit over heated (80% Boiled) as the egg yolk was a bit on the solid stage soon. The thick bread were being covered by eggs before deep frying it. After that, put a small piece of butter on top of it before servicing. Overall taste, not so bad except that I do not really understand why they put such a small piece of butter which can cover only 1 small part of the thick toasts. The Bo Lo Bao was very soft and it does not really tasted like the real bo lo bao which I had eaten before. The top part was not as nice too though I think their butter was quite nice. The kaya given was quite little but I would say their kaya plus butter compilation is one of the best breakfast to me as I used to eat like these during my younger kids days.…Read More

Wonderful Roasted Duck
The Asian Kitchen - Lu Gang Xiao Zhen
2013-12-11
Nice Saturday (27 April 2013) and my girlfriend and I had planned to go The Asian Kitchen – Dragon Inn (亚洲小厨) for dinner at Bugis+ since my friend had recommended that we should try the roasted duck. There were still not much people queuing up to dine at this restaurant so it takes not much of a waiting before we were allocated a seat. The staff were seems to be very busy walking around the places serving the customers but still able to see us when we wanted to take our orders. The tables over at the restaurants were quite well allocated nicely without being too close to another tables and there were plenty of walk way for their staff to serve their dishes. This was one of the best roasted duck that I had eaten so far. The skin was roasted till very nice and crispy where the meat were tender and not as hard to bite as most of the roasted duck meat. Highly recommended for this restaurant.I am not a vegetable type of person as usual but this dish really attracts me to eat more of these and my taste buds loves the way this dish was being prepared. Salted egg yolk are being fried together with season beans which brings out the best of the vegetable using a different taste.Quite a dry version of this dish and each and every bite on the meat was quite tough too though I would say the roasted duck meat is much better than what he might be interviewing. The soup taste quite nice with some vegetables, minced meat balls, eggs and other herbal ingredients being added to the soup. It was quite a clear kind of soup but I did not really drink much as I am not really a soup lovers too.…Read More

Simple Dining at Aussie Roll
Aussie Roll
2013-12-11
Restaurant front view of Aussie RollIt was a Friday (26 April 2013) night, we decided to go over to Aussie Roll Cafe which sells ready made sushi rolls. We had been passing by this place but never really went in to try out their dishes so this time round, we decided to try it out.A look from the front shows that they were being featured in one of the food critic magazine/newspaper as there are some print out and photocopied cutting being shown on the glass wall. There are not much tables and chairs inside the restaurant but these was not an issue as there are many tables (public usage) outside of the restaurant as these were some sort of min food court over at this place. A lot of people bought their sushi rice as take away and they will help customer to cut those long sushi into bite size (You can choose to eat it as a whole without cutting too).Nice and attractive display of their sushi rice rollsI think the restaurant boss was very smart not to waste as much of their food as possible as they came out with a happy hour sales (Similar to Japanese restaurant) where you get a discount after a certain hours and in this case, their happy hours is get a free roll when you purchase any 2 of their sushi rolls starting from 6:00pm between Monday to Friday Only.Important point to note is they accept Cash Only payment so remember to bring cash before purchasingOne of their popular variety in their menu and we are actually getting this last roll from their selection (Most of the others are sold out or left with a few). The salmon mixed with the avocado was a nice compilation though I would say most of their rice are quite hard and not as good as the real Japanese sushi rice. This version is quite sticky and dryer. The chicken version of the compilation was not as good as Salmon Avocado as chicken meat were more tough and the chicken since they were using breast meat of the chicken, they do not have much taste too.Same as the chicken avocado but the meat is actually more tasteful than the earlier as it is being marinated with their soy sauce. This roll is not spicy as it was being stated though there was still a bit of spicy aftertaste which was actually nothing at all.…Read More

Men-Ichi Japanese Ramen
MEN-ICHI - Shokutsu 10
2013-12-10
Walking around the many restaurants at Jurong Point, we decided to have our meals over at Men-Ichi Japanese Ramen Restaurant as both of us had eaten at this restaurant before last time and always been wanting to have it again here.Small and fully utilized kitchenThe restaurant was located along the Japanese Village of Jurong Point Shopping Mall with a very small shop front though their signage is quite big. There were quite a lot of people having their dinner fix here too but we were lucky to be able to get a seats without much waiting.Tables and chairs are all placed near to each other due to small restaurant sizeAs for the space of the restaurant, due to smaller space constraint, the tables and chairs are placed near to each other though that did not bother most of the people in there due to nice ramen being served here. They provide Free Upsize for noodles (Ramen)There are quite a few dishes to choose from mainly ramen and it does not take a long time before we decided to our dishes. As the restaurant give free upsize for their ramen, I just get it upsize as I am quite hungry from all the windows shopping and etc.One thing which attracts me from coming back for more of their ramen is their marinated vegetables which are very nice and crunchy. The taste of these are very nice as a starter or as a side compliment for the ramen. Sometimes, these are not being placed on the tables and you need to request for it. The staff there are quite friendly and willing to give you if you request for them nicely. The ramen are very nice, firm and chewy while the soup base is great. Based on their information, Tonkotsu is a cloudy white broth resulted from boiling pork bones over long hours and they are rich in collagen with hearty flavour and creamy consistency. The Charsiew are very tender and fully marinated and powered by the nice soup base.Even their menu shows that the Charsiew served in Men-ichi were selected from good quality bara niku (Boned rib) and pan-fried lightly to bring out its natural flavour. Each piece was boiled for 2.5 hours and left overnight to fully absorb the flavour of its sauce. The soup based of Shoyu is a bit darker than the Paitan version and a bit more saltier though the overall taste was still as great as it was to be. Other than the different in flavour, the rest of the taste is actually the same as they used the same ingredients for their ramen including the 70% boiled braised egg (half).Based on their menu, their noodles are 100% homemade using numerous rounds of research and trial, yielding a medium-thick noodle 1.4mm in thickness and 30cm in length. Each strand boasts the aroma of wheat and an irresistibly springy texture which I believe they are truth due to the nice taste of their dishes.…Read More

Nice dining Experience
Rock & Ash
2013-12-10
Both me and my girlfriend decided to go City Hall for some windows shopping and dinner straight after work on Thursday (18 April 2013). We meet at City hall MRT station, going through the City Link underground mall, we passed by a few stalls.Along the way, we passed by a restaurant who had a staff (Uncle type) trying to get customer to come eat in their restaurant, we took a look at the menu and the staff was very friendly and was able to introduce some of their plus point to dine at their restaurant. The restaurant served different kinds of dishes including finger food and main course like western or pasta and etc. I think one of the plus point which made us dine in the place is their free flow of soft drinks (Carbonated type so I did not drink any) and “Soup of the Day” for each set meal ordered (There are free wireless too but is not one of the plus point to me). In term of pricing, they are considering on the value type. They do not accept Credit Card payment but accept NETS / EZ-LINK / CASHThe restaurant itself was not very big so in term of seating space, the tables between each other are actually quite close with each other making it not as easy (But still manageable) to walk around the place. The staff was very efficient in clearing up the tables when customer leave the place to allow more customer to come in for their dinner. After ordering our meals at the counter and made payment on the spot, we proceed to self service to take our soup and drinks (Soup, soft drinks and some sauces are self-service from a counter). To our surprise, they served nice soup. The soup of the day is “Cream of Carrot and Vegetable” which to me was good and not too bad for a free flow soup. There were already not a lot of soup left (The restaurant never refill since it was near closing time when we dine there) but still, we were able to drink at least 2 bowls of the soup each which made us quite warm up for our main course. As a fish lovers, my girlfriend order the Chef Special Set Meal of Grilled Salmon Fish which served with Salad, Mashed Potato & Sausages. In terms of price wise, I think it is still quite worth the cost with their salmon giving quite a big portion (Other places is smaller and thinner). The salmon are nicely grilled which makes the skin of the salmon become quite crispy which Rachel loves a lot. The meat itself was still quite juicy inside. Mashed Potato and the rest of the side dishes I would say normal of a standard.I ordered a Grilled chicken and actually for the taste wise, it is not spicy at all except some of the nice pepper taste which I love it.The chicken meat was quite tender and easy to bite without much toughness. I do not really like the thickness of the chicken skin though as it seems very fattening (Did not eat those skin). For this dish, I can get side dishes of Fluffy Rice and choice of either salad (Which I chosen it) or mashed potatoes. The meal also allows me to add another $2.50 if I wish to have one scoop of New Zealand Ice-cream which I did not order.…Read More

Seoul Yummy Dinner at The Central
Seoul Yummy
2013-12-10
It was Friday, me and my girlfriend decided to just go to The Central for our dinner as it had been a long time since the last time we went there for a meal. We decided to go for Korean food at Seoul Yummy Restaurant after some walking around looking at different restaurants and discussion on what to eat. There are quite a lot of people queuing up to have their meal fix here and we also joined in the queue too. Reason for selecting this restaurant was that they had a very nice display of Korean dishes, their environment looks cozy and of course, there were quite a lot of people queuing for it meaning it must be quite good.Nice interior designWe waited for about 15 to 20 minutes before we were allocated with a table of 4 people. Since all of us were hungry from the waiting and it was already quite late, we looked through the menu and started to order our dishes. We were given 1 sets of Korean side dishes which was refillable but as those side dishes are in a small portion, it seems that we cleared a few rounds of side dishes. I was wondering how come they do not at least cater for 1 set of side dishes for each 2 customer or so instead of 1 table of 4 people to 1 sets of 6 small dishes. This was quite a special dish with cheese additional to it but they served very small portion of it as shown in the photo. Very stingy from my point of view. The fried rice was quite spicy due to mixture of chili while frying it. Overall not a bad dish but could be improve further if it was given more cheese. For Korean meals, I would normally ordered those hotstone type of meal as it can keep the food warm and taste better in my point of view. You can choose between 4 sauce for your hotstone mainly SupaHot Sauce (Very spicy), Bibim Sauce (Original slightly spicy), GG Sauce (Non spicy garlic) and lastly, BBQ Sauce (Non spicy and slightly sweet). I selected the original type of sauce for this meal. Taste wise, I would say it is a standard type of dish except that you get to eat those flying fish roe together with the rice to give a better taste and feelings. Their ingredients were quite ok except the meat portion do not give a lot on it.Another thing to note is that they charge for plain water!!! Up till now, I still do not feel that we should pay for plain water from a restaurant who actually took those from the tap (If they use those mineral water bottle type, I still can accept). So instead of paying them for plain water, normally I will totally do not drink, purchase their special drinks and all will come to the same conclusion: I will not dine at this place again (Unless I do not have a choice on it).…Read More

Mayim Chinese Cuisine @ West Mall (Bukit Batok)
Mayim Chinese Cuisine
2013-12-10
My ex-colleagues had earlier arrange for a dinner session to go to Bukit Batok. I had previously made a reservation for table at Mayim but nearly unable to make any reservation as their minimum number of people before they allow reservation were at 6 people.I was thinking what the hell are they thinking that we cannot make reservation with less people. Anyway, just to fulfill their requirement, I said got 6 people (We had 5 people in total) and made a reservation which was a standard timing of starting time 7:30pm (Do not understand why even timing, they also need to control). As we reached (Around 7pm) the restaurant early which was at West Mall Shopping Mall Level 2. There was a lot of people queuing up for a meal at the restaurant and since we reached early, I looked for the staff intending to tell them we reached early so can wait for the next available table for us to seat at.To my disappointment, the staff told me that there are no tables at the moment and ask us to walk around till our appointment time at 7:30pm (What are they thinking of? We reached early cannot go in to have our meals early?) At the same time, my ex-colleagues are already started to queue for it and chat up along the way. We saw a few families being called in to dine in the restaurant. (Reservation lose to people queuing there?).We got a table by queuing with the crowd around 7:15pm and started to order our dishes when my phone rang. It was the staff who called and ask me to come to the restaurant as the table was ready. I replied that I am already inside the restaurant and ordered our food (The staff was like shunned to hear that). If queuing up was faster than reservation, why was there a reservation with so many restriction imposed on it? Very disappointed and bad impression of it.There are different types of tables mainly suitable for 2 person up to a total of 10 people tables and space between each other are just nice (Not to wide and not too near). Staff wise, I would say there are still room for improvement. Anyway, our dishes are served not long after we ordered our meals. The beef version of La Mian was nice. You can see the tender meat with those fatty beef tendon. The dish was of a very nice display of dishes.Based on the menu, this was a spicy flavored “La Mian” topped with minced pork, peanut, sesame & preserved vegetable served in dry (with special meat sauce). To me, it was nicely decorated before being served which was up to standard for the viewing of the dish. The La Mian are very fresh with those QQ feel when eating it. The minced pork were not a bad match for this dish and overall, I would say this was one of the recommended dish when you are there.I would say this dish was nice but there are even better ones out there (Lost to Beauty World hawker stall dim sum). Though it was not as good, the standard was still there.Their Xiao Long Bao are quite stingy as there are not much meat in it though the soup inside are still quite nice. The whole Xiao Long Bao are placed on a aluminum cookie plate for easy removing from the bamboo container but the skin was being stick onto it that it breaks very easily.Assorted diced duck meat, shrimp, mushroom, chicken & conpoy in brown sauce over savory riceAssorted diced chicken, duck & ham in sweet corn cream over savory riceThe skin are being deep fried till crispy but I do not really like this type of crispy as it was very dry and feel quite oily too. Within it are all Turnip which was a type of vegetable and I do not really like the taste of it too. This pudding was filled with nice durian fragrance and the pudding itself was being mixed with read durian fruit in it. Great for durian lovers. This was another durian dessert dish again in mochi style. The Mochi was very soft and sprinkle with some powder before served. Inside it was full of real durian meat while the sides comes with 2 quarter pieces of strawberries.…Read More

Dim Sum Treat at Hua Ting Restaurant
Hua Ting
2013-12-10
It is a lazy Sunday (17 March 2013) morning and I am meeting my sisters at Orchard for Dim Sum treat at Hua Ting Restaurant located at Orchard Hotel. The restaurant was not hard to find and looks quite grand on the outside. More of a Chinese style high class dining location. Not to mention that each of the tables and chairs were nicely space apart and very comfortable. Expect no less from this restaurant.Staff here were very friendly and will help to refill your drinks as soon as your glass was half filled even though I can see that they were quite busy trying to serve the dishes and to take notice of any request from the customer. There were so many Chinese restaurant selling these type of dishes and I would just say the quality was good and comparable with the other goods one. Most important to me was the use of fresh ingredients and to be freshly prepared over a period of steaming. The prawns in crystal prawn were very fresh and the milky colored skin covering the prawns were just nice in the thickness. One of the recommended dish over at this place. As expected, the dishes were freshly prepared made from fresh prawns which enhanced the overall goodness of the dish. There were some fish roe on top of the siew mai too which you do not really see it in other Chinese restaurants.Scallop and some meat were being mixed and minced together before attaching it to a sugar cane like a drum stick and giving it a deep frying to lock the juiciness of the meat within. Nice but quite common to me.The carrot cake being prepared here was white colored and was nice with bit of spicy taste which I believe is requested by my sister for the spiciness of the dish but for me, I think there were other places which cook better carrot cake dish than here and it is also very expensive too. Safe your money to select other nicer dish instead.Very soft and crispy dish though I do not really like the yam, this one does prepare it with a softer version of the Yam puff. This was one new dish which I had never eaten before. Though the dumpling was bitter in natural taste, they were still able to make it into one of the recommended dish. I would not really recommend this dish as you must be able to eat bitter stuff in order to enjoy this dish.Super highly recommended dish when you were having dim sum at this restaurant. The buns were very soft and spongy and when you bite on it, be careful of super creamy and hot custard cream forcing its way out from the opening you created. Very nice and sweet with a tiny bits of saltiness. Wish I could eat more of it.The bun itself was nicely steam while the ingredients in it were marinated with great tasting spices which makes the overall taste of the bun to be heavenly feeling. Though I am not quite a pork bun eater, my sisters all loves the taste of it.The dish was deep fried till very crispy on the outside while there were still some juicy meat on the inside of the bean skin. Nice but might be too dry to eat more of it.Very soft and nice cheong fun skin wrapping some fresh crystal prawns in it before being served with their special sauce to be pour on top as and when you were eating it. Great to be able to separate it as some people do not really like to eat with sauce.…Read More

There are a lot of people queuing up by the time we reached there too so I guess that the food must be quite good and value too as I saw that there is a buffet corner for people to self service. After getting a table (Actually a big bench as need to wait longer if want normal table seat), we started to look through the menu and started to order for our dishes. Buffet (Appetizer bar) is included in each set meals so we started to go get some appetizer to eat. One thing to note is that if you are not having set meals, it is better not to eat here as their drinks are super expensive if buying through à la carte (It would cost additional of S$1.99 for each set meals).Super small buffet corner with limited variety of dishes to choose from. The buffet corner is just under the pillar and there are not much things to choose from as most of their dishes here do not really catches my eye or stomach.Drinks corner where you can choose any drinks here for additional S$1.99 with each set meal purchasedThe drinks corner is much better with different choices of drinks including machine made coffee / English tea bags and soft drinks. It would be great if all buffet had these type of drinks station. Some of the dishes from the buffet corner.Teriyaki Chicken Set @ $13.99The whole set is being served with miso soup and rice. The portion is quite small though I like the sauce being done over a hot plate. The meat is not really great though can still be passable dish.Baked Chicken Set @ $11.99The chicken meat is being wrapped with some paper marinated with Japanese Pepper Sauce before being baked in oven (If I am not wrong). The taste is not bad but does not really taste great type.…Read More
